There was a scam using teens to sell magazines door to door that my criminal justice professor talked about in class a couple years ago.  It's called "Points across America".  It involved teens that went door to door selling magazine subscriptions to obtain points in order to pay for college tuition.  The students were driven to different neighborhoods usually around dinner time by adults who would remain in the van until students return.

If you ordered the magazines they would obtain your order, either by check or cash, and magazines were never received. There was an arrest made I believe this was in Florida where turned out most of the students were runaway kids. The money or information the collected was use for identity theft and the students were beaten by the adults. The buyer never received the magazines or heard from the students again. Police were making an arrest and giving out warnings. These scams were across the states. They would use different corporation and publication names.

So be very careful. I will google later to give out more information or you can google. But the first time I heard of this was when I spent one summer visiting my aunt by marriage and her mother chased some teens away from her door with a broom. She said she had a friend who was scammed because he gave them his checking information. He was an elderly man who thought he was helping these kids.
