You can get married by a damn judge or justice of the peace and that has nothing to do with religion. If you don't want your religion to perform gay marriages, that's your right. But you can't tell the government that a civil servant can't perform them.I've always wondered why people who make marriage into a religious only thing aren't against the need for a license, or against Vegas and their 10 minute marriages (and divorces). Or why they haven't started the petition to make divorce illegal, or being against people who get married/divorced/married/divorced. Exactly! Having to get a license or to get a divorce decree makes marriage a CIVIL matter. Choosing to do it in a church is where religion comes in.
