This recession is going to churn out so many people with Master's degrees that I fear for what the value of a Master's will be in 5-10 years time.

It'll be like how it is now: if you want a decent job, then you need a college degree. Except in 5-10 years, if you want a decent job you'll need a master's degree as well. It's kind of starting now. It amazes me how many jobs should be entry-level but require 3-5 years of experience and/or a master's degree. I got a BS because I knew I'd never get a job without one, but in my opinion, having a college education shouldn't hold as much weight as it does. I know a lot people with college degrees who are certified mental midgets.
