I graduated from Law School in 2008 and I started a job right away. I feel lucky - the market fell away very quickly after I started working and a lot of the people I went to school with just aren't working in law. I am a litigation lawyer dealing mostly in family and criminal work which has, by and large, faired well during the recession.

I would say though, in the UK (where I am qualified) the job market is moving again. It's still not great for entry level jobs but for people like me with a few years experience there are definitely jobs out there. I feel sorry for the people that are just coming out now, law schools have taken a lot of money and pumped out far too many graduates for the market, its no suprise the market is saturated.
Whats average (if any) debt for a law school grad in the UK?
