can you hear the wind blow and did you know? Your stairway lies on the whispering wind

Spoiler [+]What I got from it was that yes Mila's character Lily is real and very much the "Black Swan" in real life and in dancing technique and passion. But the "Lily" that inhabits in Nina's head, Natalie Portman's character, to me is the other part of herself that for a long time she has tried to suppress. That in her mind her other side takes on Lily's image but really it is herself breaking free. In Swan Lake Odile takes on the form of Odette so that the prince will be unfaithful to Odette...."Lily" is in Nina's mind Odile and she is Odette and in some ways "Lily" is Odette too (especially in the "death" scene in the dressing room). This play really opened up a lot of crazy she had I am assuming for a long time. She turned in her mind her life into Swan Lake in a way, that push and pull within herself. Her whole issue throughout is her needing to let go, she does but it comes with a lot of crazy, which a part of it is having "Lily" being in her mind. So yes Lily is real...the night out for drinks is real and the two guys Tom and Jerry is real but when ever she let go...even a little... "Lily" is there. She is there after she leaves and go home and locks her mother out, mouthing every word having sex with her (for moments she truly let go she sees that it is really herself...her other part). She is there when she imagines herself in place even for a second having sex with the dance director/Von Rothbart (not sure if that was real or imagined). She is there when she finally let go in the end to be the "Black Swan" when she "kills" her. She is a crutch....not really a push/pull kind of character but an embodiment of what she lacks and won't let out deep inside. The story "Black Swan" in many ways was a reflection of "Swan Lake", just with a twist I think. I didn't think I would like it, the commercials look stupid but I loved it.
