If you can't support Michael Vick, why support anyone in the NBA who has eight kids and beats his wife. Or is it OK to beat humans and not dogs? How about Brett Favre and Big Ben and their philandering ways? Or Michael Jackson dangling his kid out a window? Where do you draw the line?
I just don't agree with the people who continually defend Vick in this way..."What he did was bad but don't condemn him because what others did was worse!!" I think if we're going to get "angry" at any of these people, let's get angry at all of them then. I understand that a huge number of professional athletes have done something that most people would regard as being fucked up so essentially we'd be boycotting all of sports...but how is anything ever going to change?

That being said, while I will never be able look at Vick in a positive light and don't understand any attempts to paint him as some kind of a hero, I do have a difficult time saying that he should never be able to play again. The fact is, he's out of prison whether I agree with it or not, and now he has to live his life. He's in debt, and what else can he realistically do besides play football if he ever has any hope of fixing his life? Because of his criminal past (+ the fact that he never finished his college education), he would have an incredibly hard time finding a regular job. Who's to say he wouldn't go back to hurting animals in that case? It's a sticky situation.

Also, re: the comparison with Brett Favre...don't think cheating on your wife equates to having 60+ dead dogs on your property, but maybe that's just me. Plus, based what I've perceived, it's not like Favre has received an overwhelming amount of support anyway.
