So how does your family deal with them? Do you tolerate them or make special concessions?

Well seeing as my dad passed away 3years ago, we no longer feel the need to have any contact with his side anymore at all. His mother died several years ago, and the one sister (my aunt) that we liked, passed a year after dad, so we just have nothing to do with the other 2 brothers.

On my mom's side, same thing.  After her mother died the only place we see them is at family funerals and other than a polite greeting, again we have nothing to do with them. In fact,  most of the family avoids them both other than one aunt who stays closer to the younger brother as she feels sorry for him as he is bi-polar and she feels that if she doesn't, he'll commit suicide and it will be her fault. But we all tried for years to be close to the 2 of them but the both ultimately would screw up or say or do something totally embarrassing or out of line.
