Actually Universal just bought BMG Music Publishing not Sony/BMG. And Interscope is a part of Universal not the other way around. Not trying to start anything just clearing that up.

I was only asking about the label trouble because usually an artist will start his or her own record label with the record label they are already at. Not go outside of the company. Is his record contract up soon? Could he be planning to jump over to Universal. They have a more hip hop heavy roster over there. Jay-Z is the president/CEO of Def Jam, another Universal label. Again I don't mean to start anything. It just seemed weird to start his own company with a competitor. Usually the label will do anything to keep their #1 artist happy.
