It's 'cause JJB is all grown up! lol

My husband and I have been together for almost 10 years, married for over 3. We had a few discussions and realized that this is the time that we want to start our family. I went to the doctor in July to get my yearly pap, and to make sure I was up to date with all of my vaccines. I got an MMR (mumps, measels & rubella) booster, and a clean bill of health to start trying to conceive for the following month.

After my first cycle, I was SO sure I was pregnant. My boobs were full and sore and that's not a typical PMS symptom for me. The day I was going to take a pregnancy test, I got my period and was crushed. I just assumed that with us being young, we'd get pregnant instantly. Yeah, I did some research and quickly learned that it doesn't always work that way.

Luckily, I didn't have wait much longer. I got pregnant after my second cycle. JJB knew before my husband! I went out and bought a jack-in-the-box, only instead of a creepy clown, it's a cute, furry rabbit. I presented it to my husband one morning and he was really confused. I told him to go ahead and wind the crank, and when he did, the rabbit popped out holding a pregnancy test and on the inside of the lid I taped a piece of paper that said, "We're having a baby!" He was delighted and definitely surprised!

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm 8 weeks along and have a very easy pregnancy so far. I've had just 1 week of nausea/heightened sense of smell, but I am extremely tired and my breasts are sore.

One morning last week, though, I woke up and had absolutely no pregnancy symptoms. They had all disappeared over night. Of course I was worried, but tried not to freak out. After several days though, I really did freak out and convinced myself that I had a missed miscarriage. I had a breakdown at work and that's when I told my boss. She was awesome -- extremely supportive and comforting. The next day, I went to the ER. I told them I just knew I had a miscarriage (despite no cramping or bleeding) and wanted to discuss my options. They took my blood and as I waited for the results, they brought out a portable ultrasound. Once there was mention of a heartbeat, I started bawling! I couldn't see, but my husband could, and his face just totally lit up! My bloodwork showed that my HCG level is exactly where it should be for how far along I am. It was very reassuring to see that everything is okay and I've been a lot more relaxed since then.

My first visit with the OBGYN is mid-November and I can't wait to hear my lil peanut's heartbeat!

Congrats to everyone here ... wishing you all a happy & healthy 9 months
