I was running late into work. I was a T.A. at a middle school and was listening to Kidd Kraddick. He was interviewing an artist whose name escapes me right now. (She didn't make it big) and they waited until after her interview to say a small plane had crashed into the WTC's.
It was Jennifer Page who sang "Crush" -- I remember because I was listing to Kidd Kraddick too.  She just finishing singing when he came back an announced what was happening.  I looked at my radio like I couldn't believe what he said.  Then a co-worker came by and was like "did you just hear the radio?" and we listened as he was describing the 2nd plane hitting and then we all ran to turn a TV on.  We had TVs in the building but they weren't hooked up to regular cable (just used for training videos) and some of the guys were trying foil and hangers just to get a picture to see what was happening, online pages like CNN were all jammed with reports and couldn't log in anywhere, and everyone was getting phone calls about what was going on.  And then we got sent home early (even though we're in New Orleans) and watched the rest on TV with my parents.  Can't believe its been 9 years ago, but still so fresh in my mind.
