I had just started my last year of university. I was actually in the shower when everything started and when I came up to leave my parents told me that the first tower had been hit and I briefly saw the news before I had to leave for classes.

When I got to the university, I called my mom for an update and she told me about the second tower being hit. I remember stopping to watch one of the TVs in the Student Union building (I had to stop at the bookstore to pick up a textbook). There were throngs of students standing around just staring at the televisions barely speaking except when someone approached and asked what was going on.

My first class that day was a Sociology class on Death and Dying and we spent the whole class discussing what had happened. One of the girls in the class had a boyfriend who was in NYC at the time and, thankfully, had just got a hold of him to see if he was okay before class started. I remember watching all of the replayed coverage when I got home that afternoon.
