In bed, trying to motivate myself to get up because I had a dentist appointment.  I had the radio on and the DJ said a plane had hit the WTC, but it was still unknown at that time if it was a small plane or a lost plane.  I got up and went into my mom's room to wake her up (she had stayed home because of a bad headache) and to turn on the TV.  That's when we saw the 2nd plane hit the second tower and we realized it was a terrorist attack.  I got on AIM and saw some of my friends, who were away at college, were just signing on/just getting up and told them to turn on the news, that America was under attack.

I was scared to go to my dentist appt. that was in Madison because I didn't know if big cities and/or state capitols would be attacked, but I had to go, it was an appointment to start my braces, get brackets and molds of my teeth.  I listened to the news all the way into the city and cried.  When I got to the dentist, everyone was in like zombie-mode, going about their business but not really paying attention, wondering what they hell was going on in the country.  They had radios on and the TV in the nurse's break room going, so I remember sitting in the chair, with the molds in my mouth and just listening to the news.  It was all very surreal.
