And know of some good touristy sites? I'm thinking we may go to Aukland as well.

So the sydney bridge. Okay... Is that the one that is completely made of glass? |

LOL no the Sydney Harbour Bridge is not made of glass but i definitely recommend climbing it. Go see the Opera House, walk around the Botanic Gardens, Circular
Quay, the historical Rocks area, Darling Harbour, take a ferry to the zoo.

when you're in melbourne go to phillip island and see the fairy penguins at sunset then hire a car and take 2 days to drive the great ocean road. go to
australia zoo when in brisbane. Stop at byron bay inbetween brizzy and sydney. When in sydney take a trip out to the blue mountains.

Don't forget to visit Bondi beach or take the ferry to Manly beach. If you have time, a day trip to the Blue Mountains is definitely worth it.
In Brisbane, go to South Bank Parklands, Botanic Gardens, Mt- Coot-tha. Drive or take the train down the Gold Coast to Surfers Paradise, visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sancturary, all the themes parks are in the area. You can also go to the Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin). My fave was a day trip to Moreton Island (the 2nd largest sand island after Frasier Island). There is also North Stradbroke Island. There are a lot of tour companies offering 4WD excursions so shop around. Stop by Roma St transit station. That's were all the tours depart and you'll find lots of activities to do. |

Ok, I lived in Sydney for a semester...amazing city!
I never went but people lovedd going to World Bar in Kings Cross. they serve drinks in tea cups! Skip the animal wildlife park in darling harbour. It sucks. Instead I recommend Featherdale. It is a bit outside the city, but soo much better. There you get to cuddle with koalas and kangaroos for the price of admission. The one in they city was the same price to get into and they charged an extra 20 bucks to get a photo taken with a koala. And, a lot of the exhibits were closed after five. The major beaches are fine. Bondi and Coogee get super crowded though and I didn't like how powerful the water was. I did go to a calmer beach, Shark Beach, that was beautiful! There is also a walk of the south head of the harbor that I did with my friend that starts at Shark Beach which is amazing. Go to glebe market! It was my favorite! The market at the rocks is good too, def. more expensive. Stay away from I think it is called Victoria's market (it is in the chinatown portion of the city), it is junk, junk, junk! Go to Pancake on the rocks. Hit newtown for some fun, local shopping. No chain stores there! Hyde park is a must! As are the gardens! As for Auckland, I was there a week...wayy too much time. The city is small and boring. So if you are there longer than two days, then rent a car and drive around to the smaller cities and towns. I recommend Queenstown if you are going during their winter months (it is on the south island though). It is beautiful and there is tons to do! |
