It's pretty much common sense that you shouldn't bring a dog that is strongly dog aggressive to the dog park. It's also explicitly stated outside the park that you need to leash your dog and leave immediately if your dog begins to act aggressive.

at the dog park this afternoon. This guy had two of your standard run pitbulls. One of his dogs started attacking a lab over a ball and the other pit joined
in. The pit threw the lab into the water and was still attacking him even though the lab's head was below water (it happened right next to the dog pond).
It took them at least 3 minutes to break it up. The person whose dog was hurt was really pissed off and told the guy to take his dogs and leave. The other guy
started screaming "I don't have to leave! Call the cops on me! Back off!" After they screamed at each other and the guy with the pits made an ass
of himself in front of 25 people for about 5 minutes, he finally left.

I think so. He was crying a lot but it was probably just superficial wounds. We were getting in the car when the guy finally left. He was just such an ass
about it. If my dog did that I'd be apologizing and leaving immediately.

I'm an animal lover but if some dog attacked mine, I'd kick the mother fucker. and the owner for allowing it to happen.

If you don't have sense enough to remove your dog from that situation you don't need to own one (and I mean the pit owner).
I hope the lab is
okay.

i'm surprised no one called the cops on his butt - sounds like the lab will need to go to the vet and he'd be paying for it.
i think in general pits get bad reps, there are some wonderful pit bulls out there actually more than not but these kind make them all get a bad rep for being aggressive and deadly. |

My pit is wonderful! Full of loves
some people don't know how to raise them.

Well, most pits are dog aggressive. They can be nice family dogs as being aggressive towards people is abnormal behavior for a "true" pit bull. These
looked more like the slack jawed mutts that wannabe gangsters breed though.

When I got mine I read up about them and some pits don't like other dogs and should be kept away from parks. Mine is fine around other dogs when it is just
a few but if the park full she freaks out so I take her home.

I would have called the cops and sued the pitbull owner for the vet bills.

I also think there are a bunch of assholes with small penises who want a "tough" looking dog so they encourage the aggression. Some of the sweetest dogs I have met have been pitbulls, but they have responsible owners who want a pet and not an accessory. |

Yeah, the guy almost seemed proud of it, like that was what his dog was supposed to do. I wanted to yell at him myself but I held my tongue.

I HATE those kind of pit bull owners.
If Chip started to show
aggressive violent behavior I would take her home and deal with the issue. Sometimes she gives off warning growls which is normal for all dogs but she
doesn't attack after.

texaskiwi85 wrote:Agreed. I work at a dog daycare/overnight place and the franchise has pitbulls and anything that appears to be pitbull banned. I'm a strong believer that any breed of dog can be dangerously aggressive so i don't really agree. But at the same time people are paying us to watch their dogs and keep them safe, if people hear a pitbull is also there they won't board/daycare their dog. I think the fear as more to do with the 'latching on and not letting go' thing. I've broken up many dog fights at work and it is hard enough when they don't even grab onto eachother. |
