Yes, it "shouldn't be necessary", but it obviously is!

I don't expect non-fans or non-mourners to get over it. But really ask yourself why do you care if it's on CNN or if there are 2 or 3 posts a page on JJB about him? I really don't get why it's "annoying". Does it inconvience people that much to see a few topics that say MJ and skip over them? |

I agree with Sweetie.
Michael may not have been a hot topic until recently, but I think many fans still listened to his music and cared alot about him. I listen to Michael (and Janet) constantly (not just the songs that are on the radio sometimes). Not only did he die suddenly and was still far too young to go, I think this is hard for fans b/c we're familiar with all he went through since he was a child and feel he was a sweet, misunderstood person. |

I knew that it would always be this huge the day that Michael Jackson died. Granted, I wasn't expecting it now but it was always going to be huge, no
matter when. Same with Madonna, that is going to be another huge one. We are talking about musical icons here. It will start to calm down when he is buried,
than slowly the news will fade and you will only hear it now and then but he will always be remembered in some way.
The only thing that I don't understand is where was all these Michael Jackson threads before he died? I honestly didn't expect this kind of reaction on JJB. He was never talked about, never mentioned and we saw no pictures of him anywhere. Now, all these threads are coming and all this love. Also, Michael in the media had completely vanished. So, it's not going to be a huge difference in our daily life. For example, we always hear about Brad and Angelina, Britney etc etc now god forbidden if anything happened to them, we will notice it because we see them all the time. When was the last time we saw Michael Jackson, no one was listening to new music of his. Was there going to be any more new music? He was making a comeback tour but was his making a comeback album? He probably would have done these shows and then just gone away again. |

I'm tired of the media coverage, but it's understandable. Just give it a month or so.

What did you expect? He died a week ago. I mean after the hoopla over Heath Ledger's death (that is still going on now a little bit) and after the death of
Anna Nicole Smith this should come at no surprise. MJ is the biggest musical Icon since John Lennon and Elvis to die and you think it is gonna go away now?

here in the uk mj's death gets a few minutes an hour, and from what i have seen of fox and cnn it's the same thing. i presume that, like in the uk, the
bulk of the coverage is in print, and no-one is forcing anyone to read that. people can also walk out of the room if they feel that strongly.
perhaps some people resent it, but the fact is michael jackson's artistry was significant to many millions of people, and has been for 30 if not 40 years. he was arguably the most famous singer in the world. add in the fact that he died young in mysterious circumstances. so of course there will be media coverage. but my central point is that there is nothing to be tired of - it's not as though michael jackson is on the news of every minute of every day. |

Yes, and I am apparently the only who wasn't shocked. He never seemed healthy physically or mentally to me.

I am interested in the case. I was tired of Anna Nicole Smith because the media was showing so much negative videos of it. I like when they showed MJ videos on
tv that one day. I wish they would have a whole week of his videos on one of the MTV channels.

i would rather hear about MJ than any of these other useless `poptarts`. remember when Paris Hilton was all over the news, there were news specials, wall to
wall tabloid coverage when she went to jail, Larry King live ...you name it....cant remember people complaining about it then. once this is all over they will
get back to covering Speidi or some useless other people

Changing the channel doesn't make me any less tired of hearing about it. Of course I'm not shocked. Its big news and excessive coverage is to be
expected but actively trying to avoid the constant news coverage would only add to my annoyance, if I was that bothered by it. At this point I don't care
either way, I just don't think "well then change the channel!" makes any sense.

I´m not tired. May be because in my country the coverage wasn´t really big. I´d wish it was bigger. A lot of my friends and people I know think the same.
I want to read more and to know more, so internet is the place. (My english is not so good. I hope you can understand what I´m trying to say). |

when I get the chance I look up his videos on youtube but that only makes me sadder so I stopped lol.
If you don't see enough coverage Nenufar you can go on youtube. They are posting things like interview with Oprah and stuff. |
