Does she speak Spanish really well or did she exaggerate.

I always get confused when people "bash" America for not having a history or enough of a history or how other countries have such a long rich history
with old buildings. Well, no shit sherlock. We are a fairly "young" country all things considered. Places like Spain and England have been COUNTRIES
longer than we have. Some of these countries have thousands of years of civilization before America came into being.

While I don't like her, she does speak the truth and yes we all know (well I hope we all know) that North America's history isn't as long as
Europe's so obviously Europe would have older architecture and such. Anyway I'm from Europe, still have 98% of my family living there and it is a very
different way of life which in all honesty I find far more appeal than what we have going on here

I don't find anything wrong with what she said because I have thought similar things, but she should really refrain from comparing Europe and the US already. She has said this before many times, we know Gwyneth. It's old and tired and surely she must know that it riles some people up. |

I'm not a rah-rah-US! person either, but on the other hand, I also find it incredibly annoying when the US is constantly being dissed for not having a
culture like other countries.
Our culture may not be perfect, but it's ours and it works for us. We also have the freedom to have our own personal culture within our homes and family and friends if we want to eschew the predominant American culture. Our history of hard work got us to being one of the most formidable nations in the entire world. I'm proud of that. And it's bullshit that we 'don't enjoy life' like other countries, we just enjoy it in different ways than they do. I just dislike that it's always okay to diss America for being the way it is, yet when America insults another country for not being like us, it's "Oh, look at how arrogant Americans are, they think everyone should be like them!". |

Maybe if she wandered outside her fake, consumer driven life (ie not NYC, LA, Aspen etc), she might come across Americans who live their lives in the same way
she's claiming the Spanish do. No one gives much weight to her opinions because she comes across as a snotty bitch that isn't grounded in reality.

America does have civilization that is very old but it gets swept under the rug because its the Native American culture. Gwyneth and the pretentious snots like
her have obviously never heard of the Anasazi people. Because it's not European, it's not worth mentioning I guess.

Alot of Americans live in the country, on farms, surrounded by corn fields...where they just sit on their front porch for hours and do nothing. Yes, that still exists. Maybe she should check that out. Not everyone rushes through their day, yapping on their cell phone. |

Johnny's words were taken out of context & I don't remember him dissing America loads of times like Gwyneth has. With the way she goes on about the
country, you'd think that she's not even American.

Johnny Depp has said things, and everyone is entitled to an opinion. It's hearing this crap from her in EVERY. SINGLE. INTERVIEW. that makes me want to
throttle her.

I doubt people that live in countrysides in Spain are buying $7,000 purses and having colon clenses every month as well.

My gosh. She reminds me of someone who would look up educated-sounding things to say before an interview.
