The wireless card goes in the computer, you stick it in. The router is like a small device you plug up or something....I don't know.

No clue.
You may want to look around there, or ask there. I'm sorry I couldn't help more. I don't have one myself. Wait, do you mean is it called something else besides a wireless card? |

For wireless internet you need a router.

I didn't know they were quite that expensive. But it must be nice to always have the internet no matter where you go!

Yes. I have the TMobile Broadband USB stick... The computer has about 4 USB ports-- it works just like a laptop, just very very small. I've even run
PowerPoint presentations on it for work.
I love mine, I call it BaBy PC. |

I wish you could get those sticks on an as needed basis. I don't need them very often, but it sure would be nice to have at certain times! Maybe someday.

It has internal wireless, Rosie so it will search for a signal and connect itself.
If you buy a laptop with NO wireless card, you'll need wireless ADAPTOR, which is something you plug in to catch the signal. from the router. There aren't a lot of laptops made like that I bought my last Dell without a wireless card so it'd be cheaper. The netbooks have a built in wireless card. |

Don't all laptops come with wireless cards now?

Usually yes, but I bought my Dell in '04ish and I got it without internal wireless so it would be less expensive. I bought my new one WITH a wireless card
and that's so much easier.
