A presidential run in 2012? You know, the whole "end of the world" is supposedly happening in 2012. I could see the two going hand in hand.

The Republican party really needs to ban Sarah Palin and Mark Sanford from speaking freely. They just bury themselves everytime. But I love it.

If Sarah runs, the Republican primary will be great TV. I can't wait to see Romney, Huckabee, Guliani and all the others tell her how dumb she is during
the debates.

Palin is a governor who is quitting before the end of her term.
Partly because of many ethics complaints, partly because of low approval, and partly because she (mistakenly) thinks she can move on to bigger and better things. If she can't deal w/ running Alaska and says she can't effectively do her job there because of politics hampering her, why the hail would we think she can run the entire country. Can't hack it in Anchorage, you don't have a prayer in DC. Sorry, but even I can run a state and be popular when things are going well and I have plenty of money in the state coffers to dole out and keep my constituents happy. Hard times are when your leaders show what they are REALLY made of and she has failed miserably. None of those opinions have anything to do w/ her gender, family, or her personally and everything to do with how she deals with adversity. Quitting and whining don't impress me. |

AloofIsOnFire wrote:Exactly. Clearly some people in here don't understand how politics work on a state level. Why are you excited if you don't live in Alaska? What she does has no barring on you and your state life. And to the person who said if she runs in 2012 then that means 4 more years of Obama. First of all...I completely hate statements like this. Obama has barely been in office. He has yet to show the country what he will do for us as a nation and how it will or wont benefit us in the long run (which is understandable because like I said, he's new). But for all you or anyone else knows...Obama could fuck up majorly. Who is to say what will happen in the next 3.5 years. He could do an awesome job, and he could also fail...no one knows. Saying you want Obama for another 4 years when he has only completed 6 months makes it seem like you're a groupie or something. Judge if you want him to continue another 4 years AFTER you see what he has or hasn't done during his time. Right now he's been a lot of talk (from his campaign trail)...but that's to be expected as that's what campaign trails are on both sides. We will have to wait and see what happens. But I like to judge things on action, not talk. And second of all, if she runs how does that mean another 4 years for Obama? He hasn't even said he is going to, or wants to, run.

You're an idiot for thinking Obama has only talked and not done anything of substance. He's done a lot. He passed a huge stimulus bill. He's changing our health care system. He's closing down Iraq operations and shifting them to Afghanistan. He's putting science back on the forefront (whereas Bush had it on the backburner) so we can reap the benefits of stem-cell research. He's going to start on immigration later this year. He's going to reverse Don't Ask, Don't Tell. He's installing monitoring and regulation in our financial system (the absence of it over the past 8 years due to Bush policies largely led to our financial meltdown). And you're crazy if you think Obama won't go for re-election.
Even if things aren't going your way, you still run for re-election. Hell, Bush did it after we didn't find WMDs in Iraq, and the motherfucker was
re-elected.

Her speech was fucking pathetic. I can't believe she tried to blame David Letterman and President Obama. Bitch is crazy.
And she tried to tie her move to basketball, implying she's simply a point guard passing the ball to another teammate. Bullshit. This is the point guard walking off the court in the middle of a game just because there are some hecklers in the stand and her team is losing. Crazy ass quitter. |

syncdafied wrote:And you're an idiot for all the things you just listed. 95% of them included things such as "he will..." "he is going to..." Those statements don't mean crap because they haven't been done yet and we don't know how they will work for our nation. Yeah, he passed a stimulus bill. So what? It's FAR too early to tell if that bill will do any good. We are obviously still in a financial mess (and things aren't getting better) so the passing of the stimulus bill is irrelevant to his accomplishments. It could turn out that in 3 years we find out the passing of the bill fucked us more or something. Same goes for everything else. And I'm crazy for thinking he won't run? The man as never said he is going to run again. No one knows for sure...he doesn't even know and has said so himself. |

DoesThatSparkle wrote:You're batshit crazy. He IS going to do the things I listed. Get the hell over it. And the stimulus bill NEVER had the purpose of fixing everything right now. It was always about doing things to get us on the right path over the next year or two so that we're in good shape for the long haul. If your dumbass is sitting there expecting us to be in a "boom" phase right now, then you have no one to blame but yourself. Again, your retarded if you think he's not going to run for re-election. |

lol. You can't even have an intelligent conversation with someone like yourself because you're too wrapped up in thinking Obama and everything about
him is great. I don't dislike the man, but I don't love the man either. I base my opinions on politicians on their actions AND how those actions fend
for our country. It's FAAAAR too early to make any type of intelligent decision on whether what he is doing is good OR bad.
And where did I said I am expecting us to be in a "boom" phase right now? Never once did I say that, or imply that. In fact, I said the exact opposite...I said that things take time so we obviously aren't going to be in a "boom" phase right now. Which is why it's too early to judge his accomplishments...simply because we don't know if they are accomplishments yet. But yes, I'm done arguing with you. It's obvious you can't have an intelligent conversation since all you do is call people retarded, a dumbass, and the like, multiple times. |

DoesThatSparkle wrote:The words I used to describe you are accurate. Truth hurts. Sarah Palin is a fucking dumbass and so are you. This is a great day for America. The fact that you Palin supporters are trying to blame Obama for Sarah Palin's idiotic actions shows how crazy you are. Palin's career is over. Deal with it. |

I try too hard to be provocative? What he hell is that suppose to mean?
Yes, I'm a dumbass because I believe in waiting to see results (good or bad) before judging a politician. And I know I said I was done arguing with you, but your ignorance is just too much. Where did I ever say I was a Palin supporter? I hate the lady. And how was I trying to blame Obama for Palin's actions? Please, tell me.

I'm a huge Obama fan, but I firmly believe that while I do believe he's doing a lot to get the country back on its feet, the final product (and
therefore, the realization as to whether or not he's done as well as we'd like him to) can only be made in a few years. We know what he HAS done so
far, and we know what he has said he will do. But that's all we know. We can't even begin to know the outcome of his presidency.
I hope to God everything works out and he does run again. But I hardly think DoesThatSparkle is a moron for pointing out that we can't say what exactly good Obama has done for the country definitively just yet. And I don't know that Obama is going to run again, because it's far, far too early in his initial presidency to know. Chances are good he WILL run again, but I don't think it makes DoesThatSparkle a retard for saying simply that we don't know if he will. And I'm definitely not a Palin supporter. I think the woman is as special as can be. But I think the argument going on is sort of.... moot. |
