I'm the only one in my office that can get internet on their laptop with no trouble, I have excel that actually work, I don't create files that not everyone can open and as an accountant... macs are a waste of money. So Yay PC! |

I don't harbor anything against Macs. If I had extra money to throw around, I'd get a Mac. But I've always had PCs and I've never once gotten a
virus and never had a problem with my computers.

Nothing is more irritating than a Mac user who thinks they're the shit for being one.
Macs were the very first PC I've ever used and I can't stand them. I'm a web designer and am perfectly content with my PC. |

I will never buy an Apple product. They're too expensive and just status symbols. It's also too hard to find stuff that's not for a PC. PCs work

MAC users who think PCs will crash in a month make me laugh. It's just not true. We've had two home computers over the last 14 years and we never had
to shell out another $700 to get them repaired, or had any viruses or anything. I have a Dell Laptop now at my apartment and it's fine too.

I've used both Macs and PCs all my life. I prefer my MacBook Pro, but I had a Sony Vaio for a long time that worked well too. They were also at very
similar price points when new. Recently, I've heard that one can prevent some brain function loss by using different operating systems and computing
environments. It forces you to rethink some of the metaphors for everyday tasks like web browsing, forcing you to speaking "languages" of computing.
Regardless of whether or not that's scientifically valid, I think I'm much better prepared in the marketplace to tackle problems in all computing
situation because I'm familiar with multiple OSes. That can't be a bad thing.
Also, as for the "it's too hard to find stuff that's not for a PC" comment, I rarely have that problem. Admittedly, I'm not a gamer, but I spend the majority of my time on my personal computer in Adobe products editing, web surfing, or listening to music. Many of my gaming friends just use Boot Camp or a similar product on their Apples to run games in a Windows environment. For me, I prefer Apple's interface, design aesthetic, and workflow. When it comes time to replace my MacBook Pro, I'll probably go with another Apple. I can justify the additional cost in terms of what makes me happy (and what I look for in a computer). Am I trying to proselytize? Not at all. I fully recognize that my personal needs are not those of everyone, and it would be silly to think that everyone SHOULD buy an Apple. |

don't do art and I've only ever had PCs. I update my virus protection, rarely get viruses, it doesn't randomly shut down on me... I love my PC and
use it ALL the time.
I just hate that people think that because they prefer a Mac, it's the best for everyone and that people who use PCs are morons. |

I've got 2 Macbooks that have lasted quite a few years -- and also an Alienware PC that has lasted 5+ years. Both Macs and Windows machines have their
place.
The ignorance about Apple in this post is astounding though. I love people who knock something they haven't even given a fair shot. It's really hard to overestimate the value of an operating system based on UNIX, as opposed to using Windows software. It's also difficult to overestimate the value of having the computer built by the people who made the OS -- it really does lead to a more streamlined product that is easier to use with fewer bugs. Apple doesn't have to depend on 3rd parties to release driver updates constantly the way Windows does. Now, having said that, I do love my Windows machine, it has value too. It's easy to maintain, it doesn't crash (often) and it has broad compatibility. The computer market has plenty of room for both brands, and both brands have their benefits. I don't see why JJB has to act like it is all black and white. Macs are not all overrated, and Windows machines aren't all junk. I hate that people who have never used a Mac for any length of time, are so convinced it is overpriced, sucks and couldn't possibly be for them.
