You can't work while on a student visa. At least not in Australia.

I am trying to get mine for Spain now and it is the BIGGEST pain in the ass. Its nearly impossible to contact the Embassy with questions, yet they have no
problem turning you away if your documents aren't 100% correct.
Here is what I am having a problem with: YOU NEED: original certificate of good conduct (police clearance) issued by the police department of the city or cities in which the applicant has spent six months or more during the last five years, must be notarized, translated into Spanish and legalized with the Apostille Certification issued by the corresponding Department of State, where the police clearance letter was issued. My permanent address is in Atlanta, but I go to university in Boston. My school in Boston says that I won't need a clearance from Boston, but the above statement makes me think that I do. My school has been wrong about things before, so I am really stressing myself out about this |

The only part I felt weird about was having to mail them my passport. Did anyone else have to verify that you had a certain amount of money in your bank account in order to sustain yourself? |

^ Yes, but in my case my parents have to write a document saying that they will support me and give their bank statement.

Oh I went to school in Boston too but graduated last year
Anyway your visa process sounds more involved and annoying than mine so I guess I can't complain Based on that, it does sound like you need the clearance from both Boston and
Atlanta

Yeah
Its so stressful. I had NO idea how I am going to be able to get these documents, but I am going to try. The police clearance from Boston is the only
thing holding me back.
The clearance is only required because I am going for more than one semester. If I go for one, it isn't required. |
