I saw it a few days ago and just realized that Katherine's mother in the film was Shug Avery from The Color Purple (Margaret Avery)
...and just how many movies has Terrance Howard been in

Yelling at their parents (Joe), running away when asked to get the switch. Running away from home and then trying to sneak back in (whatever came first). And
that all happened while watching 30 min of it. If I did any of that my parents would kill me.
They just comes off bad...sweet kids but bad still. |

Watcing this I am wondering has Berry Gordy made a statement. He doesn't have to, I was just wondering.

Their dad was crazy as hell. I'd run away, too.

Yeah they sound normal but they deserved at least half of those butt whoopin', not all but some. Sweet kids I don't think they should have gotten a whoopin' for everything though, but yeah they come off bad those first thirty minutes I watched, bold. |

There is also a picture of Gordy floating around at his desk with a picture of Michael and one hand and his head in the other. I dunno if it came from that
day....seemed kind of an invasion for someone to take a picture like that when he seemed to be upset.

But yeah he shouldn't beat them because they miss a step or something like that, that is taking it too far. Definitely a slap in the mouth when they yell at their parents no matter how crazy they are, especially when they crazy...that is bold son. |

gurlchocolate wrote: Hmm they didn't have a lot of what Joe really did to the kids in that movie just some things, but he made fun of Michael of his nose a lot and he would verbally abuse them Not just verbally or physically, emotionally also. So if the kids did yell back or whatever in real life, I don't blame them. The
Jackson kids went through a LOT of hell with their father
