I am back to thinking I might have a party. Blech. Something casual, roomy, not too expensive because friends are cheap. Prefer something with an outside
area, but with this weather who knows. GO!! It's soon, I need to figure this shit out.

Any one of the astoria beer garden's?
Brass Monkey - cheap but their outdoor rooftop is small so you'd have to get there early. Lots and lots of cute guys but can get extremely crowded All the other places I know which outdoor rooftops are kinda expensive and not for a laid back get together. |

Eh, not such a fan of the beer garden.
Well, suggest those rooftops anyway. |

230 Fifth Ave - Not my favorite but it's a large space
Ava Lounge - Mostly 30ish crowd. Outdoor area is small but the vibe is fun. Hudson Terrace - I haven't been here as yet but I heard it's fantastic. And the space is really big. Plunge - In Meatpacking. I haven't been to this one either but it looks nice. If you want a frat-like atmosphere there's always BurgerShotBeer which does have an outdoor space but you have to get there early and it's more of an after-work place. |

Thanks! I looked into most of those a while ago, but not all!
Definitely not going to BurgerShotBeer for my birthday! |

You could find some bars/cafes that have cute backyards in any of the outerboroughs.. for much cheaper!

There's this really awesome vodka cafe/bar on the Lower East Side. I wish I could remember the fuckin' name of it. It's a cafe of some sort, but
it's a really cute bar with a nice patio area out front. But in terms of bars, one of my favorites is Woody McHale's on 14th St. It's cheap as
hell, good beer selection and a silly sports bar and so much fun. Debauchery and a small patio! I also like the Cupping Room Cafe in Soho.

230 Fifth is SO nice! Our office party was there last year.
Brass Monkey I love but I only get hit on by 40-year-old men there. Go figure. My friend just had a birthday happy hour at Rink Bar at Rock Center, and I thought it was fun, plus they have good specials, and you can sit down for food if you want. I know midtown isn't really happening though.

I also have a soft spot in my heart for The Hairy Monk on 3rd Avenue. Many drunk nights on 3rd Avenue in midtown.
