I think it would be well worth the ticket price to see it in IMAX. I wish we had one near me.
 Closest one to me is in Phoenix which is an hour and a half
away.
The books are amazing. Rowling is a fantastic writer (unlikesomeotherclusterfuckofanauthorwhoisgettingallthehypelately) and the books flow really well. My nephew got the first 6 for Christmas and finished those just in time for his birthday in June. I got him the last book for his birthday and he finished it just last week. He's ten so if he can get through them ok I think you'll be fine. In case you can't tell, I'm all about the Harry Potter. Aww they just put a IMAX in a nearby theater and its been so long since I've seen something in IMAX I can't remember what its like
And I'll give the books a chance one day. I'm just not much a book reader it took a lot in me to read Twilight Saga and I'm sure thats the

EEEP. There's some crazy ass Ultimate Edition DVD coming out in Dec that has the Black Freighter scenes woven into the movie. That was my lease favorite
part of the comic so I have no plans to buy that

I got the collector's edition and have already watched a bunch of the extra stuff. Soon I will be watching everything with commentary. CANNOT get enough.
