And then I made a big fuss about it so she called me her silver.
I know, it sounds really weird translated and whatnot, but damnit! That's what she called us!

When I was younger I used to think my mom loved my brother more because (in Vietnamese) she would refer to him as her gold and to me as her poop, basically.
And then I made a big fuss about it so she called me her silver. I know, it sounds really weird translated and whatnot, but damnit! That's what she called us! |

when it comes to parents and favoritism, i've always thought of this quote from Meet Joe Black where the daughter told her father:
"I always felt loved, and that's all that matters, so nevermind favorites; you're allowed to have one... the point is, you've been mine. " |

My parents love us equally but my mom prefers my sister's lifestyle and achievements because tbh, they are far superior to mine. I'm the
dreamer/drifter without a set goal.

I think most parents love their kids equally but they don't like them equally.

I know I "favor" one, but love them all equally. I was SO hungry for a child after my son died, that I admit for every hug I gave, I gave an extra to
the baby hoping it was for both he and his brother.

I think my mother loves us all equally but as others have said, the bond is stronger with some than with others. She and I are particularly close. My brother
who passed last year, God rest him, was always in and out of trouble his whole life and I think he bond with him was strong and weak at the same time due to
his never really being around and her no longer trying to save him as they both got older. But I know she loved us, as well as her other three children,
equally. Her bonds to all of us are just different.

I read A Child Called It... the woman was obviously psychologically deranged and an extreme case, but she only chose to treat one of her children poorly.
I'm sure most parents love their children equally |

I think parents love all their kids, but some are definitely closer than others.
I know my grandmother and aunt are like BFFs. They do everything together and my mother constantly feels left out. And not because she isn't invited, she just knows they are closer and feels awkward. I have brothers, so it is different for me with my parents. They just treat us different due to the gender thing, and that is fine. |

Um, to all of you saying "I think my mom likes my brother/sister more," I'm sure it's just your point of view. I remember growing up close to
three of my cousins (who were sisters) and at different points, I got all kinds of stories like "I know my mom likes Sam more, because ________" or
Sam would say "My mom loves Lauren more, it's not fair, because she always" whatever. What I'm saying is, all three of them thought their mom
loved a different one more than them, but the other would think the opposite.
