I went on a date last night with a guy who's a couple years older than I am (he's 27 and I'm 22) and it just got me thinking about it. If you are
in or were in a relationship where there was an age difference, did you ever have any problems, issues, etc. because of it?

I don't think age matters as much as people want it to. I'd never date someone younger but I don't really limit how much older I can date. If I
like someone, I like someone.

That's not really an age difference. My sister is 28 and seeing this guy that's 50....now that's an age difference.

I'm 25, my bf is 37. But he's goofy and acts younger than me! Everyonce and a while a song of movie he likes will be before my time and it's just
funny more than any thing! Plus he gets a kick out of the fact that he was a college graduate holding down his first job when I was discovering I have boobs!

I'm 22 and I was dating a guy who's 34, and we never had a problem. All that matters is if your maturity levels are the same.

I think as long as you're not a 20 year old dating a 70/80 year old, you're good!

I am very inexperienced so I wish I could date younger girls but the age of consent is 16 and they are more experienced than me and it sucks.

OKAY, not a BIG age difference. But it is a difference. I guess as in different points in our lives. i.e. He recently broke up with a fiancee. I'm only 22
and just graduated college last month.

I have dated younger men, and it dosen't work unless you are both at the same stages in life and want the same thing.

I think what matters most is what point you are in your life and your maturity levels. I don't understand how an 18 year old girl, right out of high school
can date a, say, 30 year old recently divorced guy. But 22 and 27? Not a big deal. So what if he just broke it off with a fiancee.

To me age doesn't matter. My fiance is 22 and I am 26 and we have a lot in common. I kove him regardless of age. My best friend is 26 and her boyfriend is
19. I don't see anything wrong with that. My grandpa is 88 and my grandma is 81 and they have been married for 64 years and they have a lot in common. So
to me age dosen't matter.

The only time I have an issue with age difference is when the other person is old enough to be the parent. I have an ex who is 21 and he dated a lady who was
38 before me. Now he's "dating" a lady who is 40. Both of them are older than his than his step dad and around the same age as his mom.
Needless to say, his mom was quite upset when she found out how old the 38 year old was. I can just imagine how she'll react about the 40 year old. |

That's hardly an age difference.
I've never had a problem with the older guys i've dated over age, but i've never gone overboard with the age difference either. I've known girls with wayyyy older boyfriends though, and those always seem to have issues and eventually end. |

Hey im 22 and seeing a guy who is 27 also... everything seems to be going okay. I was talking to a guy who was 22 and he was just playing games so I dunno to
me older guys seem to be a better match for. But I am not gonna date someone 10 yrs older then me or anything crazy like that
