Doing something they're not supposed to? For instance, when I catch my dog rummaging around the garbage he barks profusely and bc he know he's guilty
he takes himself AND his garbage to the cage

If Sadie gets in trouble, she'll go out of her way to not make eye contact. You could put your face in hers and she'll still look away.

If I yell at my guinea pig for chewing on his cage house(the wooden part) he gets down and starts squeaking for attention
 Then I walk away and he starts pacing. And then we cuddle.

My dog practically tip toes away and avoids eye contact
 It's so obvious! I often wouldn't even notice he did something wrong if it wasn't for

Sometimes she runs away, other times she cowers. She usually runs to her food bowl and starts eating.

I know when mine has done something wrong before I even see the evidence. She will walk up to me, as slowly as possible, with her head down.
When I ask
her what she's done, she'll go to one of her favorite spots and just lay down, as if in timeout.

He looks at me in shame and droops his ears down. He then goes and climbs in his 'tuffet' and pouts. Then I feel bad and tell him that he shouldn't
do what he did and all is well with the world again.
 Its hard to stay mad at him, he had a rough life
Ha ha he also gives me a 'bitch please' glare if I move around on my bed while he's trying to sleep. Its hilarious, I'll try to get a picture of it sometime
