jrngirl wrote:Michael shouldn't have been having sleepovers with kids that weren't his (the reasons being obvious), but that didn't give someone like Martin Bashir the right to tear him down with lies or for others to manipulate and destroy a tortured, lost man for their own selfish benefit. His lack of common sense, his poor choices, don't absolve leeching assholes of being leeching assholes.
While I believe MJ did not do anything of a sexual nature to any kids, face it, he ruined his own reputation by being a grown man and having sleepovers with young boys. That's completely against society's rules for normal adult male behavior. Instead of listening to people who told him, 'Hey Michael, maybe you need to stop doing these kind of things," he cut them out of his life and surrounded himself with yes people.
Martin Bashir corrects himself about MJ's alleged ...

I wanted to punch Martin at 7:26.You can see him almost judging Michael's decision as a father to take his kids to the zoo, and you can tell how easy it is to misconstrue something or someone's intentions.
Michael didn't even seem to see at this time what Martin was insinuating and yet he still sits there totally trusting this man. |

babydtc23, I find it funny you are lecturing about not adhering to society's standards. Afterall, you were the one in March that lectured me in a
circumcision discussion about respecting them. And I quote:
"To ignore the society standards is ignorant in my opinion." Yes, MJ was a kind person and people took advantage of his kindness. Still, when it comes to a grown man associating with small children, there are lines that when crossed will make people's blood boil. |

jrngirl wrote: Ummm you missed the point. You judged Michael's actions based on society's standards alone. That is far from my statement where the subject wasn't even close to the same thing. When you look at him having sleepovers with kids from society's standards alone, it looks like he is this horrible and inappropriate person, yet when you take into consideration who he was as person, and the intent behind his decisions (pure and innocent), even the sleepovers, you see nothing but a man who wanted to be a part of something that he never had growing up and share it with the only people in society who didn't judge him. That is my point. |

the sleepovers were supervised anyway. weren't the parents there? if they were i dont see the problem.
its nobody's fault but the stupid fucking parents who either went against their gut instinct michael was a weirdo, or framed an innocent man. either way shame on them, no one else. |

The accusers parents knew Michael which is exactly why they knew they could bank on his kindness and how much he trusted people, obviously to a fault.

babydtc23, I think you have situational ethics (baby boys without foreskins=respect society, "the most loving thing you can do is share your bed with a
child"=screw society).
I didn't realize JJB was the no-criticize MJ zone. I didn't even say I think he did anything wrong for Christ's sake! |

zerabrum wrote: Very true!! I agree with this completely. I'm a Michael Jackson fan and know that his intentions were pure but grown men do not sleep with children PERIOD If that interview had been with any other celebrity, I still think the reaction would have been the same. Imagine, Justin Timberlake, Brad Pitt or even Jon Bon Jovi (insert any celebrity) giving an interview where they are seen holding a young boy's hand and saying that they have sleepovers with children, the reaction would have been the same. Maybe it was more for Michael because of the previous allegations but still the reaction would have been the same. |

When the messenger does someone like like Bashir did, yes, you "shoot" him. Michael had a ton of problems and put himself in many, many
situations he never should have, but none of that meant it was okay for someone else to yellow journalism it up and irreparably damage him on the back of lies
and manipulation solely for personal gain.
And no, I don't care that Bashir told the truth in court -- where was the truth when he wasn't under oath and it was just a matter of right and wrong? |

It's sad but this is how it always is. You have to DIE to get any type of sympathy or good fame when you're that famous.

Those Youtube clips...wow. I've always hated that man but seeing what he left out to fit his agenda? What an asshole. I felt so bad in the first clip when
Michael said that children haven't let him down and adults do. Little did he know that that man in front of him, who was pretending to be on his side,
would twist and turn that interview around on him like that.

off!
