I think NO ONE tops MJ.

They're both legends, but I'd argue that without Elvis, MJ may not have had the same career...he really was a pioneer in pop music.

I was Martin Luther King Jr and his death that allowed the Jackson 5 to be so socially acceptable among color lines Without James Brown, Jackie Wilson and Little Richard there would be no Michael Jackson. Elvis had nothing to do with it. Plus. Michael fucked Elvis' daughter so, Michael always wins |

Because I have a different opinion than you, its 'crazy talk' to think Elvis had some sort of influence on MJ's music? ok.

No no no. MJ is great and all, and a legend yes, but Elvis is more amazing to me. I love him and his music so much!

And here we go....Is this going to become an Elvis vs. MJ thread?
But to some extent, I agree with how Elvis was not as original he is made out to be. |

They're too different to compare and they had different styles of music.
I would pick MJ over Elvis because he's the one that influenced the pop music I like today. But I know people who would pick Elvis over MJ any day. |

I don't think it's the music Elvis had an influence on so much as the performance and showman aspect of things.
For music, I'd look at James Brown |
