*dusts off cobwebs* Hiiiii ladies!!
Life has been crazy and I've seriously missed this post and all of you. Would anyone be willing to catch me up on what's been happening? Plleeassseee?! |

Hi Stac!! How are you?! Hope all is well. We miss you too! There actually hasn't been a ton going on here. We been watching our eps & discussing them.
Erm, Jensen was at a Celeb Golf Tournament a couple of weeks ago. There's an interview a couple of pages back. They start shooting first week of July.
Lucifer has been cast, Jessica is coming back for an episode, & there's a casting out there for Meg.
Jessie, your post got me all conspiracy thinking...remember that EW feature that was done on the show where the boys were very vocal about the fact that they were done after 5 seasons with the show? And then we learn that Kripke was only signed for 5 but the boys are contracted for 6. Then all of a sudden in the interviews in Australia & the UK the boys start saying the show could go for more if ratings hold up & all. So my theory (and I've not spent significant time mulling it over, it's just my entertainment industry mind spinning) is that maybe Dawn or the powers that be at the CW saw the EW article & weren't pleased. They don't want to lose the new & possible viewers for the show if people see that the show is definitely ending after next season so they flex their muscles with the boys & tell them not to be so definitive about the show ending after S5 & let them know they are contracted Kripke or not. I'd imagine they probably aren't happy about that as I personally as a fan wouldn't be either. The show should not to on if he's not a part of it. So, maybe they might be in standoff mode. Refusing to do things that are the most exposure for the show on a network front such as the Upfronts & now ComiCon. Could be something that is going on...never know! |

Hey Nikki! Thanks for the quick catch up. Everything is better now, I just (finally) got the job I was hoping I'd get! (I interviewed back in December).
How are YOU?
I'm ready to join you all in the discussions! My vote is for Hell House. And I did see that casting of Lucifer, not sure how I feel about him yet. But so far the casting director hasn't gone wrong when casting a male character. Just to touch on your theory - I think in my naive fangirl mind I want to believe that J2 wouldn't be that selfish to the fans. But I also understand that, if you're correct, they're just doing what they need to do in this business. It's also possible that they are just burnt out. After I read that article Jensen did around the time MBV came out where he said something along the lines of not even bothering with other scripts because of the show, it made me really think that he (and possibly Jared too) are sick of passing up other opportunities to be more successful in their careers. Not to mention just how much time doing this show really affects both their lives. And I guess I'd be even more over it if I was working for a bitch like Ostroff, working my ASS OFF to produce amazing work, and still getting nothing in return. |

Congrats on the new job!! That's great! What are you doing? Things with me are good...pretty much same old, same old. Getting sick of the
cloudy/stormy/rainy weather around these parts.
My only thing with the casting is the Meg stuff. If it really is the Meg we know, I hope they get someone who, unlike GC, does their research and makes her as badass as Meg always was. As far as the theory...I don't really think that if what I said is true that it's being selfish to the fans. Missing something like the Upfronts (which is supposed to be for obtaining advertising for the show/network) and ComiCon (which has turned more and more into a marketing/promotion thing for the shows/networks -- cause really why is The Big Bang Theory there? Seems out of place...no?), is more a stab at the network and in a way it's kinda of them flexing their muscles as the stars of the show on a downlow sort of way. For secondary actors, as much as I love Jim & Misha, to be the only actors to show up at ComiCon, for a show that is based primarily on two other primary actors, is really odd and not a good look. I'm sure there'll be some sort of excuse (which totally could be true cause what I am saying really is just a theory) as to why they're not there if they end up not being there, but it's still not a good look. I also don't think it's selfish to fans because they know that if the show is forced to go on without Kripke like Smallville went on without it's creators, things change drastically...and usually not for the best. As much as we love the show, I don't think it should go on without him. And I do think there's some truth to the fact that they're just tired and maybe ready to move on to other projects or at least have a shot at other projects, which is not to say that they aren't at all grateful for what they have with the show. I agree about them working their asses off without recognition. I'm sure that's gotta be frustrating, especially with their talent. So far, they've still done the Cons that are more based in the true fanbase than ComiCon tends to be and they've done it under some pretty shitty circumstances, according to the few reports I've seen of the clusterfuck that was the last one in the UK. So, I think they're probably still pretty grateful to the fans for being so supportive. I just don't blame them for being tired and maybe even a little pissed that they might be forced to go on past 5 seasons. /endlongwindedresponse |

I agree Nikki, I think the not showing up at the Upfronts and ComicCon could very well be a stab to the network. Although, I don't think they were required
to be at the Upfronts, they went the first year because the show was just premiering and the second time because it was the launch of the CW, I don't think
there's really any need for them to be there anymore, it would seem silly for them to drag themselves away from their vacation time after working so hard
to just come back to stand on stage while bitchass Dawn Ostroff mentions their show in a passing comment or whatever. ComicCon, I don't know, maybe
there's still time for them to sign on, who knows. I think them not going could be a case of two things, a big piss off to the network or just being burnt
out from doing Cons this year and after the cluster fuck of Asylum, maybe they just want to take a break from all the Con bullshit before doing the Vancouver
Con.
About S6 and them doing it without Kripke, I really can't see them wanting to go on without Kripke if he didn't return, and I asked someone on another board I go to if the boys had to go on without Kripke because of them being signed for 6 seasons and they said that even though Jared and Jensen are contracted for 6 seasons, they still retain the right to negotiate annually, so both the boys and the network can still walk away next season. I really can't imagine them doing S6 without Kripke, unless of course they were offered more money or something. Also, like you said Nikki, I'm sure they're both tired of having to pass up great scripts and opportunities at this point. |

Oh, yeah, no, I totally agree about the Upfronts. That was just an example of a network thing that came to mind. I just totally wouldn't be surprised if
the ComiCon thing is a little of a muscle flex. I get them being burned out from the Cons, too, cause really, whew...who wouldn't be but this one truly is
a different kinda Con. They don't have to deal with the same things at ComiCon like they do with the others and I'd think that being at one with Kripke
is probably pretty fun for them, as well. There definitely is time for them to still get added on, though. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Now, I think unless someone has seen the contract that Jared or Jensen has signed with the network, there's no real way of telling how they can or cannot negotiate. I'm sure there are things that are typical with network contracts but each one is distinctly different, as well. Just like I don't think Jared and Jensen even have identical contracts with the network. I just find it insanely suspicious that Jensen was saying that he'd need a Brinks truck to pull up to his house before he'd do a Season 6 in that EW article and then suddenly, they're both all "Oh yeah, we think the show could totally go on!" It stinks of them having been told to not be so definitive about it ending after season 5. An actor I know was contracted for a network show and then the show got cancelled and he got cast on another network's show to be a regular. The first network put a stop to him being a regular on the other network's show because he was contracted with them, even though his show was gone. So, essentially, he was sort of shelved. I'm wondering if there's something in Jared and Jensen's contracts that states that if SPN ends at S5, they can't go to another network's show for at least that last year that they're contracted for S6, even if it doesn't happen. I love learning about that sort of thing...it's so interesting to me. Anyways, how is everyone!? |

Thanks Nikki! I got an assistant manager's position working at Torrid. It's a plus size store for women, with ridiculously cute clothes, owned by Hot
Topic. I'm pretty freaking excited about it!
Also, I totally agree with everything you said about them doing the Cons & Upfronts, there's just that tiny piece of me that feels bad for the non-crazies who do pay a lot of money to support the guys/show in person. All though, the non-crazies are few & far between. LOL. Hopefully they both have a really great team of people behind them that can back them up and support whatever decisions they choose to make after S5. |

The girls are way bigger than I am all over, so I can't wear dresses and some tops from some stores but then I go in Torrid and look cause I think well maybe I'll find something then it fits the boobies but not everywhere else. *sigh* I swear someone needs to start a clothing line for girls with this issue. I know I'm not alone. I hope they let Jensen keep his hair a little longer, too. When he came out of Hell last season he seemed to have gotten a really harsh haircut. |

Ladies, Meg has been recast...and it is the Meg we know. I think it's hilarious that Kripke is all "I've been wondering where Meg is" when
the fans have been saying that Ruby could've been Meg all along. I wonder if GC had been a better actress if they would've gone that route cause it
would've be oh so epic if they had:

Supernatural Brings Back Meg
by Ileane Rudolph June 30, 2009 10:39 AM EST
For those who've been wondering what happened to Meg, the sassy demon with a huge grudge against Supernatural's Winchester brothers,
she's back! And Rachel Miner, the former Mrs. Macaulay Culkin, who got her start on Guiding Light and was most recently seen as a bisexual S&M
practicing character on Californication, is playing the character, last seen in Season 2. "I've been wondering, what Meg's doing out
there," creator Eric Kripke tells TV Guide Magazine exclusively. "I've been continually asking the writers, 'Where's Meg?" She's
would make a really formidable adversary. I got impatient and ended up writing her into my own script." So far, Miner's been signed for one episode.
This comes on top of the previously reported casting of Mark Pellegrino as Lucifer. Satan is a nice turnaround for the actor, who played Lost's mysterious God-like Jacob in May's season finale, although he did portray Rita's devilish abusive husband on Dexter. So what do you Supernatural fans think of the casting? Does Pellegrino fit your image of Lucifer? And will you miss Nicki Aycox, who originally played Meg? |
