That's so crazy! I'm 20 as well but I grew up on him. My parents may have been a factor but I remember just sitting around watching the Michael Jackson
marathons by myself. I even remember that he was a Virgo! I was no more than 8. I miss MJ month.
Thriller scared the crap out of me when I was younger. And Rock with You was my favorite vid for a while. |

I'm 21 (will be 22 on MJ's Birthday, yes we share a Birthday) and even though my parents weren't really fans, I used to just turn on VH1 and watch
Michael Jackson. But I can't even remember a time I wasn't his fan. Its almost like I seriously was born a fan.
I used to watch the Black and White video ALL THE TIME. |

I'm 21. My Dad introduced me to Michael Jackson. I knew of Michael Jackson and his music, but didn't really think much of it. I didn't get into
Michael until like my sophomore year of high school. I'm going to be a senior in college this upcoming fall. My Dad would remind me of how in college he
would go to dancing clubs and they would play his music and how his "group" would wear white gloves and do that crotch grabbing signature move. My
Dad was obsessed with Michael Jackson. It was insane. Unfortunately, my Dad passed away two years ago and when I found out Michael Jackson died.... it just hit
hard. I remember my Dad saying that he saw him in concert and it was crazy. I remember him telling me, if we're lucky- we can go see him do the moonwalk if
he decides to go on tour again... :'(

i was never allowed to watch MTV or VH1. My father was never a big part of my life like that (divorced) and my mom never really listened to him. So i never was
a fan growing up.
i feel like i've missed out on a lot though. |

I'm almost 23 and I GREW up on MJ. And I was an Elvis fan when I was little.. I bawled my eyes out when they broke the news that he had been dead for quite
some time. So EFFF MY LIFE when this happened.
I can't comprehend how people my age don't get it. At All. I used to watch his Moonwalker film, you know the one that's like a movie and his videos are stringed together as part of a film and there are 3 main kids and one gets kidnapped and he's trying to find them. PIMP. Had it on VHS. I need to find it. But yeah..that was on repeat. And I TOTALLY got the Free Willy cassette just for his song. God this is hard to deal with. |

Don't let it make you feel old! But I guess it depends on the genre of music the boy generally listens too. IDK maybe if you said like Mick Jagger he'd
be like "oh".
I've ALWAYS loved Michael and Janet. In high school, I tried to get my class to do Thriller or Beat It as our float theme. They picked Dirty Dancing because they said that's sometihng everyone relates to over MJ. |

I was in my early teens during the Dangerous world tour and
he was selling out the world's biggest venues of 70,000 to 100,000 people.
Wiki says 3.9 million people bought tickets for this tour. The fans were going crazy at the concerts and fainting by the dozen. There is no star today who compares to MJ in his heyday. |

My dads a big fan so I heard him a lot, but I never really was interested, to be honest. I'm 24, and the first time I paid attention to him was Free Willy,
too, I think. I knew who he was when I was a kid but I didn't really care, I guess. My dad's actually in the music industry but I never really had much
affection for music until I was nearly a teenager...I was around it SO much, it was just something I always expect to be there.

I'm 22. My mom and older sister were fans growing up. I didn't really "get" him at first, and I was scared shitless of the Thiller. But then
Remember the Time and B&W came out, and AWWWW SHIT, that's all I needed. I wasn't a HUGE fan, like screaming when his video came on
*cough*mysillysister*cough*, but I did love his songs. It wasn't until I got to college and d/led his greatest hits that I really saw how much of a
talented artist he was. His voice was magic.
