I also watched the cartoon, but on Saturday mornings when it was first aired.
I remember when he and Donny Osmond presented at the Grammys.
I remember Off the Wall when it came out, and of course, all the videos on MTV with Thriller.

I remember the Jackson Five days, and seeing him and his brothers on TV.

When Thriller was debuted. I remember sitting down with my whole family to watch the making of it and then the video. Even at 6 years old I knew that was a big
deal. My mother HATED MTV for the longest time because I would watch it constantly to see Beat It and Billie Jean.

I was pretty young during the Thriller era (Off the Wall was released the year I was born), but I think I saw the Thriller video at a babysitter's house
or something and was hooked after that. Loved everything MJ, always trying to moonwalk around the house, etc.

What I remember most is standing in front of the TV with Beat It on VHS and repeatedly copying the moves, like EVERY move. I was probably 7 or 8 years old

I have way too many as well. Thriller introduced me to music when I was 8 years old. My mom would go shopping at the local Hills (it was like K Mart) and in
the front they would play the "Thriller" video and the Making of Thriller and the whole front had Michael stuff. I would wander around there while
she shopped and watch it over and over again.
I also was at the 2001 VMAs as a seatfiller and go to see Michael and *NSYNC perform "Pop". Those were the beginning and ending moments with many in between. His music touched my life. |

I was only five years old when Thriller came out but I was a huge fan. I had the album (yes, a vinyl album) and I would record myself singing along with the
songs. I seem to remember loving PYT a lot then, as well as Beat It.
I had earrings and a matching charm that were in the shape of gloves. They had silver glitter on them to mimic Michael's famous glove. I remember that I lost one of the earrings in the pool at the YWCA. I was pretty upset about that. I also had a dressy, long-sleeve shirt that had an image of Michael dancing. It was a drawing of his legs from the knees down and he was on his tippy toes wearing loafers. It's hard to pinpoint a particular moment in my life when thinking of Michael Jackson. He, and his music, was always there. Although he's gone his legacy lives on in his music. But I don't think i'll ever be able to hear Michael Jackson again and not think of this day. |

Oh, and The Wiz. My boyfriend at the time was obsessed with The Wiz and we saw it in the movies about five times

Dancing with my cousin and sister to 'Black or White', jumping off chairs while doing Slash's guitar riffs.
Also, watching that epic video of one of his European shows when I was a kid - where people are falling out, fainting, having to be hauled out of the audience. I was in awe of that shit. I also saw him perform at United We Stand in D.C. after 9/11. I never thought that I'd ever get the chance to see him perform live. It was thrilling. I have such vivid memories of listening to MJ's music. |

My mom always tells us the story of Michael Jackson's thriller being the first music video she ever saw. She remembers thinking, wow, this is weird...like
a story about the song
I also remember when his #1's album came out, and I got it for christmas....everyone thought I was lame. haha. |

We were really poor when I was a kid but my parents bought me Thriller [the RECORD not CD] and it was my very first record. I listened to that every single
day and learned all the dance moves. My mom made me a sparkly glove and I hated it because it didn't look just like it but my family would always make me
"do the dance" |

This isn't my favorite memory, but when I was little, I used to think his song "Another Part Of Me" was "Another Quartermaine."
You know, like the Quartermaines on General Hospital? |

The first time I ever saw one of his videos (89-91), I was watching with my dad and I looked over at him and said "Daddy? Is that a woman?"

Does anyone remember the Just Say No stuff MJ did? I remember a cartoon they showed us in school. This would've been in the mid-80s. |

When I think of Micheal I think of my mom. She was a big fan. His music was always in her car or in the house. I grew up listening to him and Janet.
And another one, me and my sister trying to do the Moonwalk in my grandma's living room. |

My dad said one thing I will never forget:
"[name], you were born late in the game but if there's one person you're lucky to see, it's him." Then he pointed to Michael on the screen performing Smooth Criminal. I was mesmerized. |

ugh. sooo many memories, but the most vivids ones are:
- my parents always playing the Thriller record in our house, and i would just love to spin and "dance" around in our living room. - me and my cousins always tried to do the moonwalk. - i watched the moonwalker tape over and over. - my brother and i were freaked out about the laughing at the end of the thriller! my cousins forced me to keep my eyes open during the scary parts of the video - i read the lyrics over and over again on that paper sleeve thing that covered the record. - i had a BAD poster on my wall, then used it as a book cover. - gathering around the tv to watch the Black or White vid, then talking about it with everyone the next day. - i would shut the door to my room and play the Bad tape over and over again. - oh, and i embarassed my brother by yelling, I love you michael during his concert...even though we were literally sitting in the very last row of a huge stadium. |

I am old enough to remember the Jackson 5. I loved them, I still love them. Michael's songs always put you in a good upbeat mood. As a walker, there is
nothing better than walking to an MJ song....it gives you energy and makes you smile.
Love doing the Thriller dance. I was at Cedar Pointe with three of my daughter's friends for Halloween. Kids were about 14. As we were leaving the park around 1:00 a.m., I was walking with her one friend next to me, and my daughter and another were behind me. They always play Halloween themed music, and all of a sudden, blasting super loud, Thriller comes on. I looked at my daughter's friend who was next to me, we smiled, and both started the Thriller dance (thought my daughter would die of embarrassment... hahahahah), but ya know what, then some more people on their way out of the park saw us, and started doing the dance. We were all laughing and having such an awesome time. (except my daughter who was rolling her eyes and pretending she didn't know me) |
