There are a lot of things that he did that I don't agree with, found just plain weird (all the plastic surgeries, dangling his child over the balcony, etc...)This is probably one I've the most well-written and true statements I've seen on here. I agree...I hope he finds peace.
He seemed to have a sad and troubled life. I truly believe that if he'd had some better support while growing up instead of being pushed and pushed and pushed at such an early age by his father, by the record company(s), even by his fans, maybe he wouldn't have seemed so screwed up.
Having said that, however, by no means do I deny that he was an amazing pioneer in Pop music and dance. I grew up listening to his work, I love Thriller, Dangerous, I even loved the (somewhat) cheesy "Moonwalker" movie/special (I hope that gets put on DVD as I only have a poor downloaded copy and would much rather have an official version of quality deserving of his work). I had been planning to for some time, and this morning finally felt I had reason to buy the HIStory dvds, even the dangerous "short films" dvd and I look forward to when they arrive.
His work and the fact that it has inspired and been the influence of so many of todays artists is an amazing legacy to his talent and music.
I hope that his troubled soul has found some measure of peace.
Remembering the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.

DJ Premier did a nice chart showing Micheal songs that have been sampled.

Aw, I just got a question on ChaCha that was so cute. It was a kid, had to be no more than 8, who asked 'Is it true that Michael Jacksons died in the sky,
but will never die in your heart'.

From Coldplay:
Michael Jackson was the best of the best. His music and performances made the world a brighter place. His light will shine on forever. |

TMZ is reporting that police is looking for one of Michael's doctor for interrogation, the one who gave him the Demerol shot, and he's nowhere to be
found.....

Yes. Elvis was getting many different drugs from many different doctors.

They towed the doctor's BMW from the property. If you were watching Larry King last night he got news that tow trucks were being brought in and he was like
"what on earth could they be towing?" Guess now we know.

Maybe the doctor panicked after realizing he had (accidentally?) killed one of the biggest stars in the world and ran.

i avoided tv and the internet yesterday after news came out just because it's so, so sad. i grew up listening to him, remember my dad recording the
premiere of thriller on the beta max and my family sitting on the couch to watch it and just rewinding it and watching it over and over until the tape broke. i
had a michael jackson record player, the doll, all the jackson 5 records and i swore i'd grow up and marry him.
i always hoped i'd one day see him in concert and i'm so sad that will never happen. i'll always have a place in my heart for him because he was such a major part of so many childhood memories. whenever i can get up the courage to really feel this loss i'll definitely play his music for my children so he can be a part of theirs... he was such a great talent and gave so much to so many. this is such a shame. |
