I couldn't even finish it. And Cate Blanchett's voice when she was elderly made me want to kill myself. I know she was next to death, but still. It was terrible.

I didn't like how much they had changed it from the book.

Wait, you mean to tell me you didn't like Forrest Gump 2.0?

It was a good concept, but too long. Cate and Brad just couldn't make me care about their characters. I was more fascinated by the CGI and how they made
Brad look so young in the end.

I didn't like it either. I actually fell asleep a few times during the movie. I thought the shots were too dark...and Brad Pitt's performance
wasn't as good as everyone made it out to be.
The last hour was good, but the rest of it sucked, IMO. |

This movie was one of the most boring things I have ever had to watch. And I was a history major that had to watch hours of long, dry, documentaries, mind you!
I had to fast forward so many parts and I thought it was never going to end. I couldn't understand Cate at all as she was dying. I was like "just die
already and little button just turn into a baby and disappear!"

miranstarr wrote: Me either. I'm a huge fan of F. Scott Fitzerald and hated that they stemmed so far away from the book. Also hate that the screenwriter (Eric Roth) basically wrote the same script he'd written 14 years earlier. Maybe it's a bias, but I loathe one trick ponies. (sp?) |

I thought it was so boring and dull. Brad's acting was terrible as well.

I've been wanting to see this a lot lately. I just have to dedicate the 3 hours to it sometime.

^^ Honestly, if you have netflix just go with that so it doesn't feel like a waste of your time. It's a fine flick, but it really is (IMO) another
version of Forrest Gump. The acting is fine, but nothing new or original.

I don't really see the Forrest Gump comparisons so much. The movie was OK. Brad wasn't that great in it, it went slow, but I love F.S.F. and the
cinematography was really something.

I know it's a short story but I still consider it a book. Anyway, some parts bothered me more than others, like her meeting Ben when she was just a child.
That seriously made me go ewwww.

I did not like this movie at all. I managed to get to the point where he went off on a boat and came back and met her again and that's when I just stopped
paying attention. It was just too long and drawn out for me.

miranstarr wrote:You do realise they were both children right? He was about 2 or 3 years older than her! I liked it very much though it was long in places. And they stated that it was NOT a direct translation from the short story. Just the concept was the same. |

that movie was soo boring i wanted to cry. the only reason i kept watching to the end was everybody kept saying it was soo amazing so i kept hoping at some
point it would become amazing. Brad Pitt acting didnt made it even worse

I liked it and even more after watching how it was made. Brad's acting was great as well as everyone else in the cast.

I stopped it after an hour. Too freaking boring. I haven't been able to pull myself together to watch it all the way through yet.
