Isn't this some form of racism? So just because WIA is black and does music he is a "thug"?

Everything he has said about him seemed racist to me. He said he was a thug and probably had a weapon. Why? I hate hip hop music so I've rarely seen WIA
but the things I have seen him on he seems pretty damn far from a thug.

That statement is practically racist in itself. Perez is an asshole and he's just mad because even GLAAD was offended by what he did.

I think it's ok to use the slur if you are one. Such drama.

"Faggot" has negative connotations relating to how gay people were burned to death on bundles of sticks which were called fags, IIRC. If you don't know the difference, then I don't know what else to say. |

Maybe those words are just as offensive to some people. A derogatory term is a derogatory term. "Asshole" and "bitch" do not have negative connotations? Give me a break. If you want to call someone a name, you are trying to offend them. |

If black people can call each other the n word, gay people can use the f word. Or not?

moussemaker wrote: For me, the usage matters a lot... I'm not a fan of any of it though. Perez used it in a hateful way, to make someone upset - no doubt about it, he admits to that. I don't think it's okay for black people to call each other "n" when it is a hateful, racist term, and I don't think that's what we see in rap/pop culture/day to day life. Like I said, I'm not a fan of any use of "n" or "f", but when someone says "all my niggaz" or something like that, it isn't coming across the same way as "you're a fucking f**." I'd like it if we could just erase both words from the world, but it doesn't work like that, so... yeah. What Perez did was horrible in my opinion and it shows his true colors a bit. I won't say that he deserved to get punched, because no one does, but... what did he think was going to happen? |
