it's BS.."Gran Torino" made 200mil $ plus profit.That was Clint's biggest opening in his 55 yr career.
what? Must we have bathroom jokes & special effects all the time? I hope he really gets to keep at least 3-5 mill for messing up his scedule. He is the BIGGEST male box office draw. |

beverlyhills, your avatar is so cute. I remember those pics of Zahara and Shiloh in the car. But I found it sad that the papz were photographing a couple of
babies, without Brad or Angelina there.

I hope Brad other projects come into fruition soon. Time will tell what Brad will be doing next. Either way, the kids will have both parents home which is a big plus comes summertime.

BP has several projects in the works. I don't recall reading if a script is ready for the Portman project yet or if it is a go. Tabs will just have to do
with Kate and Jon in the meantime or Jen and the new PR romance.

There is no script or director for the Artifacts book at this time, the rights were just bought and it is in development, no one knows when it will move forward. And why waste any time even contemplating what the scum of the earth tabs will conjure up to lie about, that they will is a given. Just like Tree of Life popped up for Brad another surprise film will now do so. Brad still has to promote IB over the next coming months as well. I do feel for the cast and crew and this studio head clearly does not. |

re: playing Percy Fawcett I think it'll be another "Seven Yrs.in Tibet" I think a film with both of them will be amazing & sucessful in this economy. "Like I said, "Gran Torino" made over 200 mil profit worldwide. That was a non bathroom joke, special efffects filmor a Disney or Pixar film. These studio suits always underestimate our intelligence. So, who is she to say these adult films are not popular (which we know was the reason) also since I'm ranting I'm so sick of these hostage films
when it happens in real life & it GIVES ideas to
terrorists. jek.

the producers of Moneyball probably don't believe with Team Pitt and Soderberg

KatS wrote:I think Soderberg is one of the producers. It appears to me that the studio failed to keep an eye on Soderberg and his vision of this film, then Year One and Pelham 123 are big box office failures for Sony, so the decision was made to sacrifice this film at the very last minute. Sony knew Soderberg's style, this decision is a copout.

Pascal back at the plate on "Moneyball" The ball is back in Sony's court on "Moneyball." Columbia Pictures chief Amy Pascal gave director Steven Soderbergh and Brad Pitt last weekend to try and set up "Moneyball" at Warner Bros. or Paramount. By Monday, neither studio was prepared to step up to the plate. Both studios passed. That's two strikes against a film that was supposed to begin production today in Phoenix. Soderbergh gets one more whack. By week's end, we will know if he was able to reach a compromise with Pascal. Can he meld a script that incorporates his bold vision with the more classical structure contained in the last rewrite by Steve Zaillian that made Pascal willing to gamble $57 million to tell the story of failed ballplayer-turned Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane? Pitt, who in the past has exited projects like "State of Play" and "The Fountain" shortly before they went into
production, this time remains committed to playing Beane-though it is never a good idea to leave a superstar in the lurch.
After BFD revealed Sunday that Pascal had put "Moneyball" into turnaround some 72 hours before it was to begin production, a common reaction has been: how could Pascal not have known what picture she was green lighting? After all, Pascal championed the picture for almost five years since she acquired the Michael Lewis book. Here's what happened. While Soderbergh and Pascal had discussions about his vision when the director signed on, Soderbergh last Tuesday turned in a rewrite that sources said was substantially different from a Zaillian script that Pascal-and Pitt--loved. Soderbergh took the film from a classically structured drama to a hybrid that has a documentary feel, complete with footage of actual ballplayers who witnessed Beane's metamorphosis from player to exec who fielded competitive teams by using statistics instead of paying big salaries. Pitt didn't read the script until last Wednesday, but he continued to back Soderbergh. Pascal, who in the current economic climate should be given credit for being gutsy enough to champion a project whose subject matter inherently limits its box office appeal to America (and perhaps Japan), was concerned enough about the radical rewrite that she pulled the plug Friday. While WB and Paramount execs admired the script, they felt it too risky a financial gamble at $57 million, despite the presence of a global star like Pitt. The game between Soderbergh and Sony should be played out by Friday, when Columbia will decide to: scrap the project, cut its losses and eat more than $10 million in production costs; delay until Soderbergh agrees to change the script to some semblance of the version Pascal liked; or drop the director and try again later with a stripped down version, as Fox is doing with "Used Guys" and Paramount is doing with "Ripley's Believe It Or Not!" Sources said that Soderbergh and Pascal were trying hard to compromise and keep the picture from falling apart, but the contest was too
close to call late Monday.

Thanks for the latest updates for Moneyball.
Anyways, it is not so important. Brad knows Hollywood more than us. Most probably, he will look at future now. But I am sorry for the other cast and crew Lately, he tries to avoid blockbuster type movies . I wonder what is
next for him?
Now, lets focus on IB.
