...and having to sort through your page when you log on!
I haven't gotten around to properly being a Facebook user
, so I only have 4 real-life friends and 1 celebrity-friend (Larry Winget). Then I'm a
fan of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' and 'Swagbucks'.
But even with just those 6 people, it takes a good 20 minutes to read status updates, PMs, etc.
How damn long must it take when you have HUNDREDS of friends?
I just saw the page of someone who has 741 friends.
Damn.

I feel the same way. That's why I'm very picky about adding friends. I'm already up 52 and it's starting to be too much.

A friend of mine has like 1700 or something. I wish I could tell him he's lame and needs to step away from Facebook for a little while.

The point isn't to read all of your friend's statuses or look at all of their pictures.... Half of the people don't update everyday or that often
anyway.

i think maybe some people add their entire graduating class from high school as friends..so that's 300 plus, then add some real life friends, co-workers,
and a few relatives..

I don't know about anyone else but I don't read EVERY status/update. Except like my close friends

Eh, I add whoever adds me if I know the person. On my newsfeed, I just hide the people I don't want to hear about.

Some people are just friend collectors. I have no desire to friend a person just because they are a friend of a friend of a cousin's mother's dental
hygienist.

lol you don't have to read EVERY status. Besides, even if you have over 500 friends, not all of them are gonna send you a pm

I have over 200 maybe over 300. I don't even know how I got that many people. I would say I am a friend whore, but most of them genuinely are people I know
or went to school with or worked with or family, etc.

I have over 200 friends ranging from HS friends, elementary school, Uni, work, family. It's really not that hard to accumulate a ton of friends and
it's not hard to keep up with them. A ton of people don't update a lot, some never, and there are those few who are FB obsessed.

I have 126. I logged in just to see that. lol.
Most of them are high school classmates. Some were friends, some I just knew. Others are people I have in fact kept up with in life and there's a couple coworkers. And then there's a few that I know strictly online. I met them through various message boards or livejournal. But I don't keep up with them or even log in. Facebook was fun for like 2 weeks. Then it just became boring. I think I stuck with it for like a month before I stopped caring and just started logging in less and less. I'm just a livejournal person. |

But seriously...friends from high school, college, sorority, regular life, work and other professional connections can kinda add up.
...and oh yeah, family too! |

wasn't facebook private awhile back? like only people with official college emails or work emails could join, not just anyone?

Yeah it used to be 'private' in that sense. You had to have a university email at first, then it opened to businesses and now it's like.. anyone
and everyone.

I just checked mine and I have 398 friends.
I don't add random
people; I like to keep in touch with friends I've made since I've been alive. |

I just checked too - I have 567 friends. I know every single one of them and I talk to a good portion of those people on a regular basis. Don't most people
have several hundreds of friends though? It's really not that hard to keep up with people on facebook, it's way easier than relying on traditional
methods of staying in touch.
