I don't believe the wife wouldn't take advantage of making some money by calling Kate out if she had the information. Although, whatever. I'm more concerned with why Jon is suddenly dressing like a 20 year old frat boy and trying to move several hours away from his children than anything that happened to break-up their marriage. Its time to put the kids first.

I dont know what the laws are in PA, but in CA if your married more then 10 years it could set Jon up for life unless he re-marries with money till he dies. I really hope he isnt that kind of scum to do that to Kate. Love her or hate her, she is doing what she can for her kids. Like a ho or a stripper would, but she is still working to put food on the table for her kids.
