Is it extremely hard to lose a pound per week? |

In the past I've worked out/ate better to try to lose weight but I never kept too close track of my progress. My doctor's visit was a wake up call
that I need to lose 10 pounds and I'd like to do it in 10 weeks (in time for a friend's wedding). I know it's doable, but how hard do you think it
really is? I'm not super obese so I know it'll be harder for me to lose it compared to someone who needs to lose 40 pounds. I was just going to make
sure I get in at least a 30 minute cardio workout 4-5 times a week and I was also going to start eating healthier and less, but not to the extreme. You think
I need to do more?

A pound a week is very doable on a healthy routine like the one you described.

A pound a week is a very healthy way to lose weight and doable. What you want to go should be a good routine is losing that.

My mom walks like 4-5 miles a day, and started eating healthier. She has lost 90 pounds in 9 months.

Is this the "last 10" pounds you want to lose? If so, it might be a little harder to lose. I wasn't think of this before I last posted.

I sometimes lose a pound in a week time when I have a super busy week and skip lunch a few times that week. It's not healthy, and losing a pound isn't
my goal, but that's what happens once in a while.

It's not impossible, you have to decrease your diet by 2500 calories for that week total.

Yeah it's doable. If it's the "last 10 lbs" you'll have to be really strict. Try checking out SparkPeople.com to find out your calorie
needs and to track everything.

I suggest journaling everything you eat. You can use sites like sparkpeople.com or fatsecret.com. I think sparkpeople.com is better, because it will give you daily reports on everything
you've eaten and the suggested amounts of intake based on your weight. Journaling helps you be fully aware of what you're taking in and how you can
improve.

I swear by this, dont eat huge meals. Eat little, but often. Graze your food. Stick to 1200-1500 calories. Aim for 5 smaller meals at least. Gradually increase
the cardio aspects of your workout.

A pound is equal to 3000-4000 calories so you just have to burn an extra 3500 calories a week. If you switch up your routine it shouldn't be hard at all.

Well, I would say that I am 10-15 pounds overweight. I'm really short though so it looks a lot worse on me than it sounds.
