and is feeding his cat dog food. I cannot seem to convince him otherwise.

Cat food has a lot more fat in it. That is why dogs love cat food so much and cats don't usually like dog food.

The protein content in dog food isn't as high as in cat food. Cats need more protein. It is probably fine as long as it isn't the cats regular diet. Is
he just all out of cat food or something?

Cats don't make a lot of vitamins and such that dogs naturally do, so it's not included in the food. The cat is going to get sick if it keeps eating
only dog food. Tell him then he will have to pay all the medical bills when he could have just bought the cat its own damn food.

Cat food contains the amino acid Taurine. Dogs can make taurine themselves and so is not found in dog food. From wiki -

Good I can tell this to my boyfriend. He just got a cat and the cat ate my dog's food that was left in the bowl before the cat ate its own food and the bf
swears they are both the same anyway, and told me that he thinks dog food is cheaper so he would have no problem feeding the cat dog food.
I'm going to let him know he needs to hide my dog's food so the cat doesn't get into it and what can happen eventually if he does. |
