One of my dogs recently bit me and has been aggressive towards my other dog lately. Would neutering him be a good idea? (he's 10)

You still haven't gotten him neutered and hes TEN? Do you breed or something???? Why would you NOT have gotten him neutered already?
And yes, I'm pretty sure neutering makes them less aggressive. |

I don't breed and he's never reproduced. I don't know why we never neutered him.

It makes them less aggressive, but that's more effective when it's done at a young age. (Might not be true, but I've heard it enough to believe
it.)
And you won't notice a change for a few weeks. What kind of dog is he? |

Part of it could be his age and it could be another problem-have him checked by a vet.
There's really no excuse to not have him neutered, and it should have been done 10 years ago. That's probably not your fault, though. |

I had my dog neutered when he was a year old and it didn't make him any less aggressive. He still hates most other dogs.

If he is 10, neutering him won't make a difference. If anything, it's probably more risky than anything. You have to do it when they are young usually.
Mine was neutered at 11 months and he is still aggressive. |

I heard it makes a difference, but I don't know, I guess it depends on the dog. Mine was never aggressive to begin with, so I didn't notice any
difference. They said he might get calmer (he's hyper as fuck), but that didn't change either.
It's always best to get them neutered at a young age though. It has shown to actually increase their life expectancy. If your dog wasn't aggressive before, then I'm thinking neutering won't change anything, because the cause is probably not related to that at all. I would get him checked out. |

It depends on the dog. It makes a difference for some dogs but not others. He might calm down a bit but I don't think it will make a huge difference. If he
is being aggressive it's probably because you've let him develop bad behavior. Neutering is a good step but it's not going to magically make him a
sweetheart just by chopping his balls off.
