I was at the temple praying and from the corner of my eye, I see these two girls, probably only like 16 years old, taking a picture of me. So after the prayer
was done, I walked over and asked them why they were taking a picture of me, and they giggled and said they liked my outfit and wanted to take a pic. So
I'm like "Oh, can I see it?" She handed over the camera and I just deleted it and gave it back. Why are people so weird? I mean...we were
supposed to be praying, not taking pictures.

Indians. Such losers! I wanted to tell their mothers on them hahaha
I mean, I know my outfit was nice. I paid an arm and a leg for it, but dude, get your own ideas and make your own outfits. Even my mom was pissed on my behalf. |

I would've deleted it, said something snarky and walked away.

They probably couldn't afford it anyway.

Do you wear Indian clothes when you go to temple? I only go to temples for parties.

Yeah, it was like $400. I wore it the other week too for a wedding event, but figured I might as well get another use out. It's so hard repeating
traditional outfits in the first place and I don't want some brat 16 year old to have a cheap replica.

We try to go every month or so! And besides, when I went to India in October, I spent over 10K on clothes. I love each piece and want to actually wear them out! |

No, I haven't got that made yet, Lideem! My grandparents are bringing that in August!
It was similar to this, but there was some more work done and mine didn't have the same type top, but the same colours. It's funny because this is probably one of my least expensive and most simple ones, hence why it was just worn to the temple. I guess because combining those colours isn't very popular and they really liked it.

I think it's gorgeous. I would've asked to take a pic if I wanted it so much or asked where I could find pics online.
When I wore a sari, white people took pics like crazy but I felt weird walking up to them so I ignored it. I felt violated

That's why I asked if they were white girls. They always feel like it's ok to just randomly take pictures of someone.

I guess it's just an attraction to the unique. I don't take it offensively but its awkward.

Haha, yeah. If non-Indian girls did it, I wouldn't have really cared. But since it was one of us, and they didn't even ask, I felt the need to go up to
them. I could have been a lot more mean about it though!

they might have been "cool hunters" for an ad agency, looking for new trends before they really happen...
