Ew, my mom bought me this (she never buys it for herself lol) Its like a packaged ground beef...Does anyone know if its good.

I use packaged ground beef all the time. No difference really. I only use the fresh packed stuff when I buy it on base because it's cheaper there.

There should be a Use by data somewhere on the package.
As long as it's not past that date and it's been properly refrigerated or frozen it should be fine. |

I can't believe I've never had packaged ground beef before, its a shame. Is it cheaper packaged? I can't remember.

I thought it seemed a little greasier than the regular ground beef, but it's fine -- esp for sloppy joes, etc.

Those tubes of beef are groooooss. It's probably going to have a lot of fat and will be really greasy. We only buy 90/10 beef on the little trays.

As long as she browns it and drains it, she'll be fine. I'm pretty sure they're typically 80/20, and yes, they are cheaper.
