In Maryland you only have to get the car inspected to tag it...once you have tags you never need inspection again.

No inspection in Nebraska either. I drove my dad's 1970 Chevy Nova with only lap seatbelts for a year!
In Arizona I had to pay $35.00 to pass inspection on a 1995 Volvo and all they did was check that the gas cap fit. |

I haven't gotten mine checked at a dealership but at some licensed, hole-in-the-wall place my grandmother knew about. They checked signal lights, rear and
headlights, and the windshield for view-obscuring cracks. At other places I think they're a little more thorough. I have a pretty severe crack across my
windshield (was there when I got the car), and I doubt anyone else would have given me one. The inspection sticker is good for one year. They cost $15 each
time, I think.

I don't think I've ever had an inspection the way you all are talking about it. Illinois does the emissions test but I think that's it. In Kentucky
I never had to bring my car in anywhere.
