I may be moving to the area later this year, but I have absolutely no idea what the "good" neighborhoods are or which ones to stay away from. If I
move to that area, I'll likely be working at either the Port of Seattle or Seatac, so I need something decent that is relatively close to either of the
areas, preferably relatively inexpensive, if there is such a thing in Seattle.

I guess the main question is what is "relatively inexpensive" to you? Seatac was the Crime Capital of Washington some 15-odd years ago, while it has
gotten better-- I don't always feel comfortable there alone. White Center, I wouldn't feel safe. West Seattle, VERY NICE and chic, but expensive and if
you're driving, sometimes a hassle. A better place near Seatac would be Burien, Normandy Park, Des Moines, all sleepy type neighborhoods-- ok areas and not
too high priced and very close to Port of Seattle (10-15 mins car ride on a good day). Tukwila which is right next to Seatac is all right.

The best areas are either Rainier Beach or Central District. Move there.

I love West Seattle. I wouldn't recomend moving to White Center or South Park, unless you want to get shot. |

Hmm I like the Greenwood, Ballard and North Seattle Area aka Shoreline, Edmonds etc.
Downtown wouldn't be bad but everything there is hella expensive. Magnolia, Greenlake, and Queen Ann are nice as well. |

say Burien, Tukwila, Des Moines, Federal Way

Thanks! Of course, now that I've got a starting point in Seattle/Tacoma, they'll probably put me in one of the tiny towns way up on the Canadian
border. But at least I've got something to look at until they tell me where I'm going for sure.

You should try Enumclaw or Buckley
I beg you don't live in Federal Way. I was born in Tacoma and raised in Federal Way and lived there until I moved when I was 21. It's good to visit on the weekends when I go home, but I can't see myself living there ever again. It's grown way to much and they just keep building and building. Hell even Covington is nicer then Federal Way It also depends on how long you want to spend in traffic also |

Tukwila and Renton are perfect then if you're at SeaTac
if you're at the Port then Tukwila and Renton are still good but West Seattle might be better. Most mornings it's almost an hour in traffic from Federal Way to Downtown Seattle and that's just one way |

"tuck-wil-la". Enumclaw, Buckey and Covington are waaaaay too far-- they're cheap, yes. But it's not worth it if you're a 9to5er, because
the rush hour traffic sucks.

Traffic to downntown Seattle from the south is NOTHING. Especially from Tukwila or Burien because you can do 99 the whole way. I would stick with the South,
because traffic North is HORRIBLE. I moved from Tacoma to Everett and yeah, I could not stand the traffic going to Seattle from Everett or the other way
around.
