I have both NY and CT channels for all of the primetime networks, but for some reason I lost my Fox channel 5 (NY) last week.

FREE HOUSE CALLS - Federal Communications Commission (Dig. TV)
In-Home Digital Converter Installation Washington, D.C. - The Federal Communications Commission is making FREE house calls to help consumers struggling with the transition to digital television. In-home services include set-up of a digital television (DTV) converter box, indoor antenna adjustments, and hooking up analog VCRs to a converter. Among those making house calls in some communities are members of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, along with firefighters through the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Most services will be provided by contractors hired by the FCC, who are prepared to visit around 200,000 homes over the course of the transition if needed. For help, call 1-888-CALL-FCC now. Or visit www.dtv.gov and enter your zip code or state in the upper right-hand corner of the page to find local events, assistance and information. On June 12, all full-power television stations in the United States stopped analog broadcast service and are transmitting only digital signals. Consumers who do not subscribe to pay television services and have older, analog televisions will need to have digital-to-analog converter boxes attached to their televisions in order to continue receiving over-the-air television programming. They may also need to adjust or upgrade their television set-top antennas. -FCC- In the Detroit area, you can contact the following companies for assistance: Installs Inc., LLC 800-582-4250 Green Planet 888-508-1115 R & D Training & Technical Services, Inc. 866-202-4596 Don-Lors Electronics 888-643-8809 Borrowed "Yes, we were a bit harsh in yesterday's item, explaining the "lack of power" out of Local TV Fox affiliate WJW/8's new digital transmitter...which was believed to be running at 30 kW, but is actually only putting out 11 kW, based on our research of FCC filings." "High-band VHF DTV appears to be having reception issues all over the country - certainly at WCPO (in Cincinnati), and at WHDH in Boston, and WTNH in New Haven, and to some extent at WHEC and WHAM here (at NERW home base in Rochester, NY). http://ohiodigitaltv.blogspot.com/ http://www.tvconversionhelp.com/2008/07/27/got-dtv-got-weak-signal-youre-not-alone/ |
