A lot of lousy, cheating, bad SO stories get posted on JJB! So your assignment now is to post positive, feel good stories, the reasons why you love the one
you're with.

This isn't really a story, but my husband and I have now been married 4 months (dating almost 8 years) and sometimes I look at him or he does something and
I just get this overwhelming feeling of love for him and it makes me feel so happy.

Well, besides the one I already posted...... Before the BF and I lived together he told me one wednesday or thursday that we were going out Saturday night and that I needed to wear a nice cocktail dress. I was immediately intriqued and kept asking him where we were going. He wouldn't tell me That Saturday I got in my dress and he came and picked me up. Turns out he had scheduled us on a dinner cruise out in the Bay. It was so much fun and so romantic. There was like three courses, fantastic drinks, fun dancing and it was during sunset to the evening so we were able to go up and hang out on the top deck watching the sunset. It was very romantic, and proabably the sweetest surprise I had ever had. |

I've been with my boyfriend since I was 19, I'm 23 now and a one sweet thing that popped into my head was from a few years ago. I had been bitching and
complaining about my computer. It was slow, full of bugs and had a monitor that weighed 50lbs (it literally was from the 80's. It said "Low
Radiation" on the front!) Well I didnt even realize he'd been listening to my ramblings at all.
Cut to my finals week, a few weeks before my birthday and christmas. He called me up to go to a movie so I left my dorm to meet him in the parking lot. For a few weeks he'd been taunting me saying he got me a really good birthday present but wouldnt tell me. My roommate specifically said "Maybe you'll finally get your present tonight!" and I was like "oh yeah right blah blah" well I walked out and when I opened the passanger door there was a DELL box with a red bow on it. He'd bought me a new desktop computer and monitor. He loaded it with photoshop (to do my photo final on) and the Sims. I was SO excited I called my mom at like midnight and told her. He also gave me a diamond ring for our anniversary this past September. I heart him in so many ways. |

"wanted to fall asleep with me."
guh I love him.

This happened when he and i were just friends but it was obvious we were into one another.
My younger brother had stolen my digital camera and it had upset me really bad. i called him crying and he told me to calm down and he would be there as soon as he could get to my parents house. it took him about a hour to get there (it was a 30 minute drive from his apartment to my parents) and he walked in with a digital camera in his hand just like the one my brother had stolen from me but it was the updated version of it. He has done so many sweet things for me and i love him so much. he is the love of my life and i can't wait to be married to him. we already live together to see if we could even get along being married. so far, so good. |

My husband doesn't let me sleep in socks. While we were dating, I always slept in socks (in the winter). When we got married, he told me I wasn't
allowed to wear socks to bed anymore because it's his job to keep my feet warm.
To this day, 6 years later, even if my feet are ICE COLD, he will let me stick them between his legs while we are sleeping so they get warm. |

I had gotten a glass jewelry box that I loved about five years ago. Four years later I packed it up with bubble wrap and sent it through the mail to go to
college with me. It broke, and I was so upset.
My boyfriend came to visit me a month later and school. He brought along with him the SAME exact glass jewelry box!! I couldn't believe it because I got it at the most random store and I thought it would be impossible to find. He said he had looked for days and finally found it at a small boutique

Oh, I would say my boyfriend wins the award for best ever.
I get full body massages on a daily basis for no reason in the world. He cleans. He cooks. He takes care of everything that has to do with my car. For birthdays/Christmas/anniversaries it's ridiculous. I have quite the collection of designer bags/jeans/shoes because of him. Many mornings I have woken up to flowers for no reason in the world. Also, the mornings we are both home together he'll get up extra early and go get my favorite Starbucks for me. He's amazing. I could go on forever. There are few flaws I can find in that boy!!! <3 |

This isn't the best thing he's done, but it was the most recent, really good thing he's done....
A couple weeks ago he and I went on a cruise. When we get to our room, I realize we have a balcony and our room is super nice. Turns out a week before we left the cruiseline called him and said they had reduced rates on the open VIP suites they had left and he scooped on up without telling me. We had an AMAZING time.

OH! Just thought of a better one. A couple years ago I was living with his mom while he was away at an internship in Ohio - about 9 hours away. I was fostering kittens from work and had absolutely fallen in love with one kiitten - his name was Franklin. Joel hadn't really met him other than when I first got him when Frank was 10 days old. The weekned he came home from his internship, I put together an adoption event for the shelter cats. Frank was officially available for adoption and I bawled my eyes out when I first stuck him in a cage. He was the sweetest little boy I'd ever fostered and he rode around in the hood of my sweatshirt everywhere I went. When I was out for lunch, Joel came in and adopted my foster kitten and gave him to me as a Christmas present the next day. I didn't think he wanted another cat - we alreayd had one - but he knew how much Frank meant to me. Here we are the morning before the adoption event. This will forever be the best present I ever got.

He does a lot. But a really recent cute thing was that he spent almost the entire game last night holding my daughter up high so she could see.

Oh another sweet thing my boyfriend has done for me.
I am sick with a bad sinus infection and last night i wanted to go out and get RS magazine (big Adam Lambert fan). he told me i was not going anywhere and he went out in the rain on a hunt for the magazine. he went to 4-5 places before finally finding it. most men would not do that for thier gf, fiance, wife.. |

This one is from my parents, but I like sharing it. (And if you know an Engineer, you know how RARE the emotional sharing of feelings event that happens at the
end of this story is for them to share.)
My father is high up in the Mine Safety and Health Administration of the Dep. of Labor. In August 2007 he was dispatched to the mining disaster in Utah. While out there, a second collaspe happened while MSHA workers were on site and in the mine doing shifts for investigation. My mother got a phone call that it was my father's shift, something went wrong, but they didn't have all the details. (This was probably the most horrible night of my life, not knowing if my dad was alive or not.) In the morning, my dad could finally call, saying he was okay and that another MSHA worker had taken his shift. However, that MSHA worker that took my dad's shift had died in the collaspe. (A whole lot of crying phone calls after this, my father was forever changed by this event.) My mom was up that whole night, drove to State College in the morning moved my brother in for his freshman year at PSU, drove home, and got up to drive an hour to work at her own school with in 48 hours. That morning I got a call from my mother crying her eyes out. At first my heart sank thinking something ELSE had happened in Utah. Then she told me, my father had sent 3 dozen roses to her school for her, with a note telling her how much he loved her, how important in his life she was, thanking her for being the mother of his kids...all that lovey stuff you dream of hearing. My dad doesn't share emotion if at all...so this was pretty big. |

He gave me the best Valentine's Day last year. A few weeks prior to Valentine's Day, we were sitting in his living room and he randomly asked me what
my dream meal would be for a project he was doing in his anatomy class. He told me to give EVERYTHING I'd want and then they'd analyze it...or
something like that.
Come Valentine's Day, he told me to get dressed up and that we were going out to eat but he refused to tell me where. He picked me up and blindfolded me. It turns out he had a candle light dinner all set up in his house and he had a CD with a bunch of our songs it on playing when we walked in. The meal consisted of EVERYTHING I mentioned in my dream meal and then he took me to Starbucks for dessert. It was SO adorable.

VelvetRope11 wrote:Oh my God! I live in Utah, so this hits close to home. I remember when the rescue worker died and just being so so upset. It just casted an even darker cloud on the whole situation. That's crazy that your dad was supposed to be the one working. What a great ending to your story though. |
