I have to spend a day/night alone in Madrid next month (I'm meeting my friend in Barcelona the next day) and was wondering what are some good things to do.
I am staying at a hotel near the Plaza Mayor..thanks!

Madrid is ok...it feels like any random large city to me. Barcelona is a lot more exciting! Do you have any sort of travel guide? I'm sure you could find
stuff to do.

Well I was interested in places where the locals hang and eat. I live in NYC and don't want to spend my short time there in a Times Sq like area..any
