She is not able to speak, and she has almost no motor control. She can move her head a little bit and more or less communicates by glancing at things and making sort of a gutteral sound. She has some mental impairment. She would like to go to a Keith Urban/Taylor Swift concert in Kansas City on August 8th. Here's my question, and I'm hoping some of you JJB'ers will draw on your vast NSYNC concert experience (LOL!) to help me figure out how to get her a meet and greet or backstage experience or something like that. How do I go about requesting that?* If she could meet these celebs it would put her over the moon. Right now it is planned that 2 staff people will accompany her, and assist her. I'm not one of them, so it's not for myself that I'm requesting this. Since KC is about 3 hrs. from her home (an Intermediate Care Facility for Mentally Retarded people) she and the staff will stay overnight in a hotel. Edited By: Gemma 06/13/2009 1:38 PM. Sometimes, certain artists will have all access passes for sale. These are usually not listed on sites like ticketmaster/livenation. You can contact the concert host for that day and see if they have any packages such as that.

I'm not her parent....I think that should probably done by her or her parent. Not sure if they'd get on board with that. She's not dying. Does Make a Wish help handicapped folks also?

All of them are advertising the concert but I couldn't see where any of them specifically sponsored it. I'd write to each of 'em, tell the story and see if anyone bites. It's great PR. Why not the Witchita show? Too far?

We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.....is their mission statement, so maybe not.

Hers may not be a fanatical type following, but I'm pretty sure she'll be thrilled to be at a live concert. She's in her late twenties or early thirties, I think. I'd have to read her chart. There's a station in Topeka (WIBW 94.5) which could probably put me on the right track for finding out how to do this, but there's no CONTACT US button on their website, and I really don't want to go thru this whole rigamarole on the phone 10 times till I get to the right person.

The text of my email: Subject: Help for a handicapped woman, please I don't usually start off with such a plea, but if it gets you to read this and offer me some info. or some help, I guess it might be worth it. I work at an Intermediate Care Facility for Mentally Retarded individuals in (name of the community) KS. A young lady who lives here has significant mobility impairments, and uses a wheelchair and other assisstive technology in order to communicate. She is going to attend the Keith Urban/Taylor Swift concert in Kansas City, Mo, on August 8th, with 2 staff members to help her. Is there any way we could arrange a Meet-n-Greet or a Backstage Pass for this woman? It would really be a highlight of her life to be able to meet these artists. If you will direct me to the right person or process, I will pass the info. to the directors of our facility, who will take it from there.
