I don't feel bad for her. She did resists arrest and put them both in danger by not moving over. And he warned her about 9 times.

Some old people are just assholes. Yes, I said it. Just because you are a certain age, does not give anyone the right to disregard the law or be rude. This is
what happens.

She may have had it coming just as anyone else would have, but I don't see the point in using that kind of force when it's not necessary. To me, I
think if you wouldn't use lethal force (ie: the gun) in these kinds of situations, you should try to do what you would have to do if you didn't have
the taser. I think in this case, he was pissed and used the taser because he couldn't be bothered to apprehend her the way he probably could have.

If he would have apprehended her normally, she would be suing for excessive force. Fuck her.

I don't see why the taser was necessary. I don't feel bad for her but I think he could have handled it differently. It's not uncommon for people to
die after being tasered so I think they should only be used in extreme circumstances, not just when some bat shit crazy woman is being weird and defiant.

A police officer cannot just grab somebody and push them back. That would be considered police brutality and excessive force.
No officer wants to grab or touch anybody for that very reason. That's why they give them 10 billion warnings about tasing. Tasers aren't just used in the place of a gun. They're used in the place of a hands and batons as well. They're used to control a suspect who is not complying, which she obviously wasn't. I don't blame that officer at all. I don't think he was "taser happy" either. But police officers are just damned if they do and damned if they don't. They shoot someone and everyone cries out as to why they didn't use the taser. They use a taser and everyone cries about how they didn't have to do that. They touch someone to arrest them and simply place their hands behind their back and everyone cries out they're using excessive force (Even though a tape can prove they're not). Can't win for nothing. Apparently officers these days are just supposed to stand back and shake their fingers and go "don't do that". |
