When you chose or are going to choose your major, which did you go with, Did you choose your passion, the one thing you'll love to do, or did you choose
something that will be able to financially support you through your life? Me and my friend were talking about this today. I know that there are professions
that can be very financially rewarding and you can love the job at the same time, but I was wondering if anyone has had to question this for themselves?

I went with my passion. I don't expect to make much as either a teacher or a writer. (I'm an English major.)

I went with my passion and then switched it over to something more practical. I was originally a Music Biz major and switched to Marketing w/a minor in Music
Biz.

I just graduated. I went with something practical. I didn't enjoy college as much as some of my friends, but I'm now employed with a good job while all
those friends are working part time in retail.

Passion. Writing and music don't have the best odds for success.

Something I'd love to do. My passion would be music/acting/photography but there's too much competition.
I wen with Criminal Justice after learning about DNA fingerprinting in Microbiology, and I haven't looked back since. |

Bit of both. I love kids and the easiest thing would be to work in a daycare but ECE's make nothing! So I decided to teach.

Practical, but yet I'm still kind of passionate about it. I just can't picture myself in anything else.

I chose neither. I didn't know what I wanted to do so I did what the majority of people in the same boat do: major in Psych!
I completed the 4 year degree and decided not to pursue it post-grad. I took a few months to think about what I could do that would be more practical and enrolled in a community college Corporate Communications course. Worked out well for me. Not stellar, but I'm working! But if you're passionate about something, you're best to pursue it. |
